i was curious so I made this in chat gpt-mainly for curiosity and data. Since Heupel revamped his offense, the only QB with less TDs than Nico was from Utah State.

This stuff is interesting to me. Do with it what you will and put any observations you have.

Chuckie Keaton at Utah State is always gonna be one of those "what could have been" kind of guys.

When he was healthy, he was electric. Problem was he was only healthy a few games a year

Believe the year Heupel was the OC was Keaton's senior year. He got injured pretty early in the season I believe.

I appreciate that insight. I had no idea!

Am I missing something or are the only ones on that list playing in the NFL today VFLs? And one of those, Hooker, was not a Heupel recruit and was benched by him.

Dillin Gabriel was just drafted.

Drew Lock is with the Seahawks.

Landry Jones and Trevor Knight also played in the NFL after being coaches by CJH.

And Nico will almost certainly get a shot to play in the NFL.

So when we say that CJH couldn't use the full playbook last year with Nico, the numbers speak for themselves. They guy who was supposed to be the best QB in the history of football turned us into one of the best running teams in school history.

Joe Milton III started a game and was just traded to the Cowboys to avoid QB controversy in NE.

I believe he is included when the guy said VFLs, but Milton definitely wasn’t traded to avoid controversy. Pats and Pats fans are all in on Maye. They traded Milton because they got a decent pick in exchange for a backup QB.

The more I think through Joey A. the more I really like our chances this season to do something special. He’s experienced, has a great arm, and did great with far less talent and coaching.

I’m not saying he’s a preseason Heisman, but I am saying when it’s all said and done, I believe ppl will say “Tennessee got the better of the UCLA Tennessee QB swap.”

I agree. It may take a few weeks to gel, but we will be competitive. Glad we play Florida late.

yeah, but I'm sure he told him he was really sorry, when he had to put him in about half way thru the Florida game.

We opened vs them somewhere along the line-2014 I think?

Anyway, the season before we played them Keaton was kind of the "mid season" Heisman before he got hurt.

I remember being kind of worried about that game during the summer-Botch was the coach then and that whole malaise scene

Anyway, he's apparently moving up in the coaching ranks now. Believe I heard recently he was on the staff in NE now.

I think it all depends on how much he can absorb and what kind of chemistry he can get with our receivers in a short amount of time.

Could you repeat that please? I didn't get it the first time.

Something else to think about-the year Heupel was at Utah State would have have been when they were recruiting Jordan Love of the Packers.

Love enrolled at Utah State in summer of 2016 so would have signed in fall of 2015-when Heupel was OC.
