Do we have a 1,000...

I think we will be a running back by committee next year, so we probably won't have a 1k rusher. At the same time, I think as a group our RBs will complement each other well and will rotate success game by game. Desean Bishop can hit the hole fast and has a nasty quick side step cut that causes LBs and DBs to whiff at him. Peyton Lewis looked more promising as the season went along and seemed to get a tad faster. To add speed with his big body will make him a handful to tackle. Star Thomas will be able to get outside and test the edges and be a threat in the pass game.

So becuase the traits are so different, it could be a different player that emerges week by week.

If I had to guess:
Desean Bishop - 850 yards
Peyton Lewis - 700 Yards
Starr Thomas - 450 yards

Good post. We may not have one guy who gets 1000-1200 yards, but I think our running back group can put up respectable numbers.

If things go as per previous years, by committee, we should again average about 190 to 210 rushing yards per game. For total yards, I would guess the order would be, no.1 Lewis, no. 2 Bishop, no. 3 Thomas, no. 4 Morris, and no. 5 Team.

yard ball carrier?

1200?
I believe the question is: Do we have an OL that can open holes for a RB to reach 1,000 yards? I would say yes, CJH has proven that he does a great job on the rushing side of the offense. Do we have a RB that is durable enough to rush for 1,000+ yards........Bishop, Lewis, and Thomas are promising candidates...jmo

Going by YPC Bishop at 78 carries averaged 6.1

Sampson had 258 carries last season.

Multiple that by 6.1 and you have 1574 yards ?
I don’t think it would play out like that, but I do think Bishop can break 1,000.

Sampson had almost 1500 last season.

Feeling negative on the team this year. 8-4 seems a probable end result. 9-3 or 7-5 on the outskirts. Still a 1K rusher is always likely in a CJH O but only if the carries aren't divided up significantly... so meeeeeh... is there a definitive RB1 right now? Nope. Result barring injury: Split duty.

So... no. No 1K rusher.

Mays will be missed btw. Most plays ran right by him.

Essentially a rookie QB and a rookie C aren't strong cards in this offense.

Are we sure he's our QB1? Also, CJH's scheme seems to favor those who've been in the program over talent, per se. I think Merk is QB1.

Not this season. You will see the trio of Bishop, Lewis, and Thomas. I think they can all have pretty decent seasons but no one will get the lions share like Sampson.

I think Bishop could get there. The coaches seem to trust him in pass protection so he’ll get the most meaningful snaps. He’s got a spotty record for staying healthy tho. Lewis has a lot of potential and hopefully has improved his blocking. Thomas was an interesting pickup because he could have gone somewhere and been the #1 guy. They must have some packages that get him in space, probably figures into the screen game a lot or bringing him in as a receiving option in the pass game. They must have sold him on something like that when they were recruiting him.
