Andrew Fischer. Heard something I didn't realize ...

I know Fischer leads the team in home runs with 17, but I didn't realize that he's reached base safely in all 49 of Tennessee's games this season. Looking at his stat line he also leads the team in runs scored, total bases and walks.

It came up in the radio broadcast, that’s an impressive figure. He does it differently but when he gets in the box, seems like, a mistake doesn’t sway him, kinda like, “you got me there, throw that again.”

The on base thing often requires a bit of luck, but Fischer has done it not only with hitting, but with a display of discipline at the plate that has been truly remarkable.

For a guy with as much power as he has, he is not a “free swinger” at all. He doesn’t have a lucky streak going. He has earned this one.

Also impressive is how he has adjusted to first base. He is not a finished product over there, but he is an above average player his first year over there. Solid glove, good communication with pitchers on balls hit his way. Needs to keep working on his footwork/decision making on poorly throw balls, but I think he has done really well over there.

Burke really developed over there as well. Whoever is responsible for coaching our 1st basemen does a good job.
