I think it will. Without a meltdown in Game 1 at LSU we go 4-1 on road against Bama, LSU, Arky, Ole Miss and USCjr.

Hope they put us in the UCLA regional. Further away the better.

I guess if you're looking for a reason to be optimistic, it's as good an omen as any, but I've resigned myself to believe this bunch just doesn't have it. They can't get out of their own way in the field. They don't seem to have the clutch gene of former teams. They also aren't really peaking at the right time, which is the primary difference I see in this team and the 2023 team that was able to go on the road in the postseason and get to Omaha. That team closed the regular season on a hot streak going 15-4 while this one is 9-10 in the same span. They just can't string wins together. I'll be mildly surprised if they make it out of a regional, but I'll be shocked if they manage to take 2 of 3 in a super.

If can avoid another SEC team in the regionals and an SEC team gets upset in the regional we are paired against, it will be smooth sailing to Omaha
Nothing is a given in baseball. One hot pitcher and one hot bat any team can beat you. Your best pitcher can have a bad day and really kill your bullpen which was kinda what happened to Liam this weekend.

Exactly. Even more telling, is the disparity in the 2023 team vs this year in the last 15 SEC games. 11-4 vs 5-10. 4-1 in their last 5 series vs 0-5 this year. 2023 didn’t “flip a switch” once they got in the postseason. They had been playing well for weeks.

Also, true of Ole Miss in 2022 to a lesser degree. Yes, they were the “last team in” but went 7-2 in their last three SEC series including a sweep at #9 LSU.

Could they go on a run? Sure, but that will require truly “flipping a switch” we have seen little indication of the ability to flip for several weeks now.

I think Tennessee can win the regional, but I think that is their ceiling this year. Too many flaws to be an Omaha team. Could it happen? Sure, I’m not ruling it out. It’s just not my expectation or a scenario I find realistic. Only thing for certain is that I hope Doyle rebounds and is lights out again in his Regional Start because if he struggles to give us innings then we’ll be hard pressed to make it to Sunday. He’s gotta be our work horse.

Patience. Wait for the brackets.

I’m as concerned about getting an SEC umpiring crew as I am getting another SEC team , it’s ridiculous at the horrible calls we’ve gotten at home and on the road , the Auburn series was as bad as I’ve ever seen , that crew should have been reprimanded for that **** show they took part in , oh well it’s a new season and we’re as good as anyone for 1 game we just have to figure out a way to win game 2 and 3 , my only concern about going on the road is the natural dirt fields have given us problems since we’ve gone to the turf at home

You are asking for it!! I have been saying these type of things since early in the season and have been taken to the woodshed every time. This is just a little above average for the way this program has been preforming over the past few seasons. This is not to say there are not some really good player on this squad, but as a whole, this is not a topnotch team.

It's becoming more and more difficult to argue otherwise with every series loss. Even coming against good teams, admittedly, losses are still losses, and better teams in the past have been able to steal wins where this team gives them away. It's still a great picture of where this program is when this kind of season is considered the down year. But as for this year, this team just doesn't have the makeup of one who should be expected to make a significant postseason run. Winning a regional is probably their realistic ceiling. Anything beyond that would seem to be an overachievement based on what we've seen in the last 6 weeks.
