Is it just me, or.does.watching that clip, even though you know the outcome, you k ow the words verbatim, you know the atmosphere...does it still send a chill straight up your spine?

I was in high school at this point in the heart of Big Blue country of Central KY. I had to tolerate and listen to all the UK fans live vicariously through the Gators that week. Man, I never held my head more high walking into class than I did that following Monday. Marched right in sporting a crisp white and orange Vols cap. One guy piped up and asked the teacher (also an assistant football coach) if he was going to make me take off the hat. Coach responded you.make.him take it off...

That stuff long continued after Spurrier.
We honestly haven’t broken from it.

That last two Florida teams we have beaten have been .500 caliber teams.

That 8-4 year with Pruitt we lost to a 4-7 UF team IIRC.

Oh yeah. The curse has continued well past Fulmer / Spurrier. I was just stating that this nonesense started during the Spurrier era. I think you are talking about Butch above. He should have had a four game win streak from 2014-2017. It takes a special kind of talent losing that 10-9 game in 2014 and then losing on Hail Marys in 2015 and 2017. This is the curse at its peak. When it seems impossible to lose, we still find a way, always against THAT team. Fulmer could have easily had a 7 game win streak from 1998 - 2004 but we choked away the 99 and 00 games and had no business losing to that crappy 02 team. Some people here say they always had better talent. Bull! The only time they had much better talent was during the Meyer years at the end of Fulmer through early Butch and then again with Pruitt. All other years we were no less talented, in some years more talented. Sorry to get long winded, I feel the PTSD kicking in again.

Sorry TAF. Didn’t mean to hijack your awesome and motivational John Ward clip there. What is wrong with me??? I can’t even enjoy the sound of JW and memories of our best game ever against the Gators without having a meltdown. 😜

No Worries...it's the "Gainesville Affect"...it STRIKES ALL TENNESSEE PLAYERS/COACHES/FANS etc. once they cross over the Gainesville City Limit sign...and they start smelling that aged urine in the air...

It even sometimes travels to Knoxville...WITH The Lizard team and "Fans'...and it permeates Neyland...as they more times than not in the last 35 years WIN in Neyland...

It's a STENCH that NEEDS to be REMOVED!!!!
