Coach Weekly has cost this Team a chance at the National Championship by her decisions in the playoff games. Her decision to hold up the runner at 3rd i the Oklahoma game cost us. Or at least we would of had a chance to score a run. The plays she challenges is another problem she cannot figure out. She should know anybody that is up to bat and is a good hitter with the game on the line with a base open........WALK THEM!
I think we have given her enough Time 20 plus years to get the Natty. Tennessee needs to start looking for a replacement now so we do not have to go through the Phil , Butch, Purit, sagas.

I said it last year and I’ll say it again. I appreciate everything she and Ralph did for this program however… Its time to move on. Let her coach next year (farewell tour) and bring in a coach in waiting to assist or be ready after next season. Danny White has made some incredible hires since he’s been the AD. Who wouldn’t want to coach a team playoff ready.

I agree with volfan100% on Karen not walking the others team big hitter with the game on the line. But i think one of the reason is Karen, did not get this team another good starting pitcher. We have one of if not the best pitcher in Pickens. I think the girl got worn down pitching all those innings. She just pitched 3 games against Jordy Bahl to beat her.

That's it, only Tony Vitello gets to stay; Heupel, Barnes, Caldwell, Weekly......

I don't see Danny White firing a coach who just made the WCWS semifinals.

Only way Karen leaves before her contract is if Ralph’s health takes a turn and she needs to step away. Her equity is more than enough for her to leave on her own terms.
This.

Pitching to that gal was one of those tough coaching decisions that turn out to be right or wrong depending on what happens after the decision is made. You can't clamor to fire over a decision you have the luxury of second guessing.

And holding or not holding a runner from trying to score? If she lets her try and the runner gets thrown out at home, some of you same folks are then demanding to fire her for that decision. Coaching decisions are often no win situations.

They can't handle the truth

Have y'all listened to those two postgame pressers where she clearly explained her reasoning?

If you have, then you can bemoan the outcome, but, at best, any different decision would have been in flip-of-the-coin territory. Her reasoning was logical. The outcomes were regrettable. This ain't chess. Plays still require execution by both teams, and that's how someone emerges a winner.

I agree on the statements about holding a runner and walking HR hitters. I also think she should have had Pickens throw the rise ball very little or none at all against the HR hitters she faced in the tournament. I hope she will learn from this, get another couple of stud pitchers, get a better hitting coach, and win a NC in the next few years!

She doesn't need to be fired! But, she does need to improve in a few areas soon or walk away on her own terms soon! They just can't seem to get over the hump for some reason. If she can't get it done soon, I think she should walk away and allow an up and coming young former player have a chance at winning a NC!

have to agree that UCLA solid hitter that hit the home run, shoulda been walked even if it loaded the bases. . But I'm proud of what they accomplished and coming back to win the game. They keep nibbling at the finals each year, they're going to win a NC

Count me out of the fahr the coach crowd, but I absolutely agree about pitching a WALK in that situation. Iirc, there were two outs with runners on first and second base. A walk would have set up a forced out at home plate. Without the bases loaded, defending home plate and the game might have meant tagging the runner. Add a dangerous batter to the situation and pitching a walk seemed like a no-brainer. Thanks to the team for so many great plays and for never giving up. I enjoyed following this team throughout the season and know that we fans are very proud of them.
