It’s mostly been speculation for a few weeks, so who knows what is true, but it wouldn’t surprise me. My dad has season tickets and sits pretty close to the section the parents are in. He told me after Tony took Kuhns out earlier than expected in the Sunday matchup versus Vandy in the regular season that Teagan’s dad was furious and pissed off. I would imagine that if any of this is true, preceding to take him out in Hoover and not pitch him (rightly so) in regionals was the end of that relationship.

It’s sad if true because for a freshmen he was pretty good and it was clear he just struggled to adjust (like all freshmen) to the SEC. With Phillips, Doyle, Russell, and Arvidson all headed to the draft, he would have the inside track to being our Saturday guy if he stays.

If Dad is "furious" and "pissed off" because Tony took his son out of the game, then he's directing his energy to the wrong place IMO. Tony's not going to leave pitchers in to get shelled and lose us games.

Burns/Nico type scenario? Parents making a poor decision that isn't in the kids best interest? How do you walk away from Vitello and Frank Anderson. Fight through it instead of running toward what appears to be the easier path.

This: Tony V has let better talents than Kuhns (Burns) leave this program and been more than fine. If Teagan and his dad want to walk away, we won't break our backs trying to keep them here... every arm is replaceable, especially the ones with an ERA over 5 and a WHIP over 1.6

I don’t know what the truth is here. All I can really say is this year more than the past, leash has been short, ‘facing one batter’ short at times. If a kid leaves because of that, well…but I certainly know nothing and until I do, until we do, speculating is a waste of time.

Well, bye then kid. Krenzel has developed much better than Kuhns and if it wasn't for the illness/mono in the middle of the season then he'd have the Sunday starter spot on lock. We also have Anson Seibert coming off a redshirt in the fall, can't wait to watch that dude!

Agreed. I’m not trying to stir the pot. I have no idea what the relationship between Kuhns and the staff is like. Just noting what my Dad saw. Could be nothing.

Yes, and I would think a player who still has his career ahead of him would be interested in developing and have things in perspective as far as early playing time. It’s not like he played for some scrub team.

Interesting. I was surprised he didn't start Sunday and even more surprised that he didn't make a single appearance all weekend. Seems to me like he'd be in a good position here heading into next year, but guess dad see's it differently (if true).

The kid made an impact as a Freshman, surely he’s not giving up on this program. An offseason with this staff and he would be much better next year. If my kid were to ever play for Tony, I would trust the decision making considering his track record. This team is coached by the best.

If he chooses to leave, it'll be his loss. There has yet to be a kid leave this program that Tony didn't want to lose
