Didnt see it anywhere else, I see this as a positive comment about how capable our team will be even without last years QB returning

Ah yes, AtoZ sports. The undisputed champions of taking any individual remark, comment, or sentence from elsewhere and adding enough paragraphs of fluff to blow it up into an "article" about how Tennessee fans should feel slighted in some form or another. Or any number of other topics, but it's most commonly some form of insult to the program. You know, to lather folks up for the clicks.

I'll pass.

He might not be too far off. There's a lot to be said about having a unified locker room with no distractions or outside disruptions. Having Nico and his crew out of the picture might be just what this year's team needs. They say a team kind of takes on the personality of it's leaders. If this new kid is as described, we might just be a real surprise team this season.

That site is embarrassingly bad. That Ragan guy needs to get a real job.

It really is just yellow journalism lol. If Zach Ragan was born in the 1800s, AtoZ would be running headlines to “avenge the Maine!”, but alas, he was born in the modern day, and has to just write about how a coach saying he likes ice cream means he thinks Tennessee will go 0-12 instead.

I agree with McElroy. Nico isn’t good, and we are probably an 8 win football team.

But the biggest thing that needs to be shouted from the rooftops about the whole situation is that we didn’t pony up for Nico because they knew he wasn’t that good. If Nico had been worth 4.5 mil, we would have paid it. He was never worth what he was being paid from the jump, let alone a 100% or more pay increase.

A lot more to be said about a pissed off and motivated locker room as well. I think if this team can stay healthy and navigate some early offensive turbulence they will be very dangerous this year. Defense is going to be very good still imho.

It's not only a bad article, but it's the most lazy "journalism" one can imagine: commenting on someone else's comments. And to top it off, he throws in an irrelevant ad hominem attack on McElroy, just to gin up those -- including me -- who clicked on this rubbish.

We are going to be hearing about Nico and doubted as team about losing him by some of the outside media until kickoff so just get prepared for it. We had a lot of question marks with Nico coming into the season with very little returning starters.

One thing that gives me a little confidence is that looking over the players that have the potential to take over these various positions (including even QB), they are 4 or 5 star recruited players. So they are not necessarily scrubs. I guess we will find out everything against Syracuse.

McElroy is a Dbag whose BEST SEASON was worse than Nicos 1st season as a starter at UT.

McElroy best 17TDs. 4INT. 2500yds

Nico 2024. 19TDs. 5Int. 2600+ yards

Nico also ran for 300 more yards than him and more TDs. McElroy was playing on a loaded Gump team during sabans dominant streak.

Nico wasnt good last year. Not defending him. Greg was even worse though...with 5* x5 linemen and 5* WRs in the pre-NIL era where the Gumps had the #1 or #2 recruiting class every single year.
