I have a theory. About why Tennessee is seen as the bad boys of college baseball. College baseball antics have been wild for awhile. I think it makes the sport the best imo. I like seeing Liam Doyle Call a batter a “f’n pussy” before he strikes him out. I even like the wake forest coach calling Fischer what he did, before Fischer made him eat his words, and hit an absolute tank. Maybe I’m F’d in the head idk. But my theory is Tennessee has been THE baseball program for the past 4-5 years. And I think because of that Tennessee as a program has been the poster child of what college baseball has become. Tennessee and Tony V didn’t start it. They were just the program everyone saw, cause they kept winning. It’s not a nice a game. It’s a nut up or shut up game. Maybe it needs to change, but I don’t think what Tennessee was doing in say 2021/2022 was any different than other programs. College baseball has gotten out of hand for awhile, and personally I don’t want it to change, but I also think media people need to stop talking about us like we’re something different. The only thing that’s different about us is we win and they have to notice. As far as watching college baseball… they do not

Pearl clutchers will always find something to gasp about when it is someone else's team. What's annoying is the hypocrisy. Pundits love to kvetch but they arent the ones in the stands.

As many have noted, no one would even bother to report it if we werent WINNING!

As a 58 yr old and a person who has never watched a single game of MLB and just became a TN baseball college fan in 2022 (thanks to Mike Honcho) I hope TN players and coaches continue to play with the type of emotion that they have been.

Seeing Fish and Madman go crazy show how much they care about the team and CTV. Seeing TV eating ice, performing the DX crouch chop and running and jumping on Doyle makes me smile like a kid at Xmas!

Let the other teams, media, other fans, other coaches complain all they want. There is a reason why we are THE team the last 5 years and will continue to be THE team… these young men want to play for TV and will give their all for TN!

Lots of other big time programs act like we do. Some are even more flamboyant than our boys. Problem is, we did it first so we are the poster child. Instead of other fanbases paying attention to the “antics” other teams do, they hyper focus on us and therefore think we are the only ones.
