I’ve read all sorts of “Arkansas baseball is cursed”, “God hates us”, etc. The misplayed foul ball that would have won the WS if caught against Oregon State and now that 9th inning last night against LSU that would have at least forced a 3rd game with winner advancing to the final. Not a Hogs fan but what a gut punch (again)!

It made my whole weekend knowing they can't even win one of the weakest CWS ever. Alabama bravado but an...well, Arkansas Trophy Case.

I have ZERO sympathy for the players and their fans. I want them to suffer like this EVERY YEAR.

Van Horn and Arkansas fans have been at the forefront of the “Tennessee and Vitello are classless” crowd. It started back in 2021 and it was because of nothing more than anything other teams do. Bat flips and celebrations. It’s been completely manufactured and it started with a Van Horn.

So yeah, I hope they never win a Natty. Plus, in their heart of hearts, they wish they had Vitello. They’ve all but admitted it. And it’s going to be funny when he rejects them after Van Horn retires.

What did Van Horn ever say about TN or CTV being classless?

There was a crack he made about shenanigans in our dugout and outside the lines back in 2021. It was really the first time anyone said anything about Tennessee players’ antics. Then it sort of became our reputation after that, even though it was nothing more than many other teams do. Then I think we sort of just leaned into it in 2022.

It was nothing more than jealousy. He knew what Tony was building and didn’t like it. I realize there seems to be mutual respect between those two, but we all know damn good and well that every other coach in this country is jealous of Tony with the way he handles the game and how consistent he is with winning.

Van Horn's handled it better than Crybaby Corbin has.... that a**hole got so intimidated by what Tony was building that he tried to get us in hot water with the NCAA

For Arkansas, this was absolutely the cruelest way to suffer a loss. I think their whole team got their due justice in light of the Super Regional game where Root acted as ugly and disrespectful as a player possibly could. I hope these incidents begin to shift the axis a bit on respect for the game and for your opponents. It’s gotten so nasty.

Uh...gotta say, I can relate to that feeling. BVS is a real thang!

I get some of the old school coaches pushing the agenda of Tony and UT being too aggressive, especially in 21. We were over the top and even many of our old school fans didn't like it and expressed it in person and on here. Old school coaches think the game should be played with no player getting recognition, especially being a "showboat" in their minds. There are also an unwritten set of rules and things that are "bush league." And we pushed the limits of most of those. That might be an offseason thread of what are the bush league or unwritten rules of baseball. The old school guys would be fine with you throwing at a batter but not fine with a bat flip. I will say they also coach that way with their own teams. They are fine with Root jumping Fischer but not fine with Fischer bat flipping. I've watched DVH and Corbin jump their own players for antics as they say. I can live with a guy who is consistent either way. Whether you are old school or pushing the limits is fine with me but you have to be consistent with the other team as well as your team.

I’ll never forget what Corbin did to remove NC St from Vandy’s path by getting them disqualified in Omaha for Covid. He screwed those kids.

And he's been getting every ounce of karma he deserves since then. He may have screwed NC State in the short term, but in the long term he screwed himself and his program

Old school guys grew up when showboaters were met with pitches at their head.

DVH is not consistent. Root was beating his chest at Fischer for a ground out, not even a strikeout. DVH didn't really care about that. His teams are undisciplined when it matters most.

Definitely not a LSU fan but like you just couldn't ROOT for the "woo pig sooie" worst & most embarrassing chant in the history of college. Plus they had some jerks on their team.

Coach DVH is a class act. I bet he had words with Root behind closed doors. His teammates grabbed him to shut him down as well. Since TN does their antics, I have no issue when others do similar to us. I love passion in the college game. Sometimes it bubbles over the top. I take the good with the bad. Let the kids play as they used to say in MLB. Personality in sports makes it more fun and entertaining IMHO.
