Thanks. I figured it was fixable so not sure how easily.Freak - yes, it is fixable with work and repetition.
Remember how Marcus Phillips was able to improve holding runners after he stunk it up mid-season? He did it without even developing a slide step which gets the ball quicker to the plate. Some of it is body, hand, glove, etc. placement. Sometimes it is how they turn their heads, number of times or how long they look at the plate or runners, how long they take from stepping on the rubber to wind-up, etc. There are a host of things they review, do pitch call patterns, and so forth..
Chase was tipping pitches at UT. It was one of the reasons including third pitch development that he was moved to the bullpen.
Todd Walker. There have been several that tipped pitches at UT. Lots of HS guys do it and many college. You can't get by with it in pros. Too many people looking for an advantage and the good ones see everything.
I loved last year on a weekend ESPN game when the crew for college baseball called about 10 pitches and pick offs in a row and said how they could tell.
I think Mizzou knew our pitches a few years ago in the frozen tundra. Amazing how good some folks are at recognizing tendencies and grips. I guess the 3B coach often is the main culprit. There have been several that tipped pitches at UT. Lots of HS guys do it and many college. You can't get by with it in pros.
