What are your Two favorite all-time Tenn plays? one offense and one def.

My favorite offensive play was Jennings juggle catch down the sideline against Florida in 2016. I had never seen us beat Florida so that game was amazing for me.

Defensive play, Will brooks pick against Bama to seal it last year or the McCoy 1 handed interception in the end zone. Probably some recency bias

On Defense, I'll pick the best play from the the 1939 Defense that went undefeated, un-tied, and UNSCORED UPON in 1939.
Surely, a brilliant play or three happened during that idyllic season.
Along with whatever best UT Offensive play came after that. I'm not going to scroll through history to see what that might have been.

Impossible to say, but the first two that popped into my mind were Dewayne Goodrich's pick-six and the fourth quarter 79-yard TD pass completion to Peerless in the national championship game. The INT flipped the field and gave us momentum and the long TD pass made it feel like we were going to win. These two plays made it possible for Tennessee to win the first and only national title of my lifetime (so far).

2 great ones not mentioned:

Offense, Keyton’s catch against Florida in 2022. Late first half, Florida had taken the lead and the momentum, and were backed up around our 20. Keyton made an incredible 40-yard catch to flip the field. We scored a TD to take the lead into the half and went on to win. You never know but it seemed like the game changed after that catch. Not the best play ever of course but just a great one not mentioned.

Defense, THE stubble fumble in 1998, hands down. Honorable mention would be those 100 fumbles Al Wilson forced Florida into, including 2 at the 1-yard line. We sure had some dogs on D that year.

Legend has it that Ole Herman O’Houlihan registered the lone Pass Break up of the season when Sewanee tried a little razzle dazzle and tried a forward pass on a first down.

When I read the thread title, I thought of both of these plays.

The Jauan Jennings long TD where he smoked Jalen Tabor and Jalin Hyatt's 3rd and 4th TDs against Alabama are up there too.

Many great ones mentioned above! All are very worthy!

My favorite all-time play is a special teams play. Any of you old-timers remember Dale Carter’s kickoff return? If you do, I don’t have to mention the team or year!
