I saw about half of Chaz's minutes, and he looked like he belonged.

His defense was good. He reacted quickly on defense and was very engaged. Demonstrated high BBIQ multiple times. Boxed out. Looked very fundamentally sound.

Only thing was I saw bad was his shot get blocked once where he seemed relatively open. And that was something worth worrying about in the NBA with longer defenders and his low release point.

Itโ€™s so funny how traditional bigs that donโ€™t fit in the NBA dominate summer league and G league.

Tolu Smith was incredible in this game, for instance.

Bacot was good in the Memphis game.

And itโ€™s always been like this. All the way back to Stokes winning g-league mvp

I really don't understand why the traditional big really doesn't get a chance much anymore in the NBA

Players like Kofi Cockburn coming out of college were insanely athletic and gifted. Now it seems like bigs space the floor and shoot 3's? If I were an nba owner, I'd want a big man on my roster. A lot of these centers today aren't as strong anymore

theres no shaq in the league, and without someone of that level, the traditional bigs necessary to compete with him aren't worth the dip in handling spacing defensively

Jokic and embiid are both pretty dominant though. Youโ€™re in for a long night if you donโ€™t have someone on your roster to match up with them.
