Tennessee football has a saying going around its locker room this offseason.

‘Young guys don’t have time to be young.’

Not sure if I've heard this quote before. But who will be the FR contributors for this year? Eason says Isaiah Campbell is one. Who's your guy? Mine is David Sanders Jr.

That rings true even on the defensive line, one of the deepest position groups on the team. One true freshman who may have a sizable role in his first collegiate season is Isaiah Campbell. He comes in as a five-star recruit (On3) out of Durham, North Carolina.

As fall camp looms, sixth-year senior Bryson Eason can tell Campbell is already prepared to make an impact. The reason is the extra work and attention to detail he’s already putting in.

DL can be a good place for a freshman to make an impact…we have depth but believe in notating players and keeping fresh bodies in the game so it’s very possible for guys who aren’t quite in the two deep to make some plays. I really hope we can again control the running game and get an interior pash rush to go with our edge attacker…pressure is the defensive secondary’s best friend….
