Different strokes for different folks. I'm really looking forward to it. Always wondered why we never played each other. They're a little brother, just like Vandy and ETSU and UT-Chatt and Memphis and MTSU and all the rest who live in the greenest state in the land of the free. There will be nothing thrilling about that game.
We have never played because they are a HBCU. We never would have played before integration, and then we didn’t play FCS/1-AA teams really until we went to 12 games permanently in the 2000s.Different strokes for different folks. Go Vols!
If some high school kid living in middle Tennessee isn't aware of the largest state university 180 miles away that already plays a football game in Nashville every other year, probably not someone we want.Good exposure for recruiting the mid-TN- Nashville area is why you move it to the titans stadium.
TSU could always get the recruits to out talent most of the other OVC type schools. However, since schools like U.T. Martin, Murray State and others began taking a$$ beatings from DI schools for money, they started getting those kids because they improved facilities. TSU isn’t winning like the old days. I guess they finally realized they need the $$$ to improve facilities to compete.Different strokes for different folks. I'm really looking forward to it. Plus, it’s already agreed that it’s only like $600k for instate schools. $1 million plus for out of state programs. We are doing them a solid and cutting them a check. If we are going to play teams we know we are going to steamroll, I would rather it be in state teams so we can help them financially
Oh wow! He got his doctorate?TSU AD is former Vol defensive back and Asst UT AD Mikki Allen. I'm sure that plays a role in this. I know Mikki personally and would love to see him as UT's AD one day. Apologies, he goes by Dr. Michael Allen now days to folks that didn't grow up with him, lol.
Yes, he got his doctorate. He played at Brentwood Academy. His dad wanted him to get that private school education and a much better football program back then than most of the public schools in our area. Has a little brother that was a doctor at Vanderbilt last I checked. Both parents are great people as well.Oh wow! He got his doctorate?
Played with Murfreesboro Riverdale back in the day irrc.
