Nicco: “Come back home to family”

What? Have you never heard of a 19 year old kid away at college being homesick? It happens all the time!

Did you not read the last part of the post?
Yeah. Sure. The millions were SO HARD on his family. Totally believable. Odd that he made the decision only after being denied a raise. I guess that little bump in cash would have made things just A-OK Okie Dokie with the fam jam.

Come on, buddy.

Oh, you read into the post; not what the post said.

Got it, buddy

Trying to save face now that he didn't get what he wanted and will be making less money. If being close to family was more important than NIL money he likely wouldn't have even considered coming across the country to Tennessee. I do realize that his father played a large part in all of this but at some point you've gotta put the big boy shoes on and make the best decision for yourself.

Basically, had Notre Dame or some of his other "desired landing spots" ponied up the cash he wouldn't be back in California right now.

He could have bought a house for his family to live in in Knoxville with all the money he left on the table. Afterall it would have just been a year or two more. In the NFL he could end up in New England or Buffalo.

Plus in the Knoxville, all you had to do was play decent for one more year and try your talents in the NFL. If so, you would have been a VFL and beloved in this city for the rest of your life. No one in southern Cal is going to care one bit about you the moment you dip out.

Yup.

Kid needs much better mentorship.

Very sad...

Also per article from their coach:

“We're just excited to have a playoff quarterback," Foster said. "Just being able to come back home and be comfortable and being in a familiar environment, I think the sky is the limit."

Yet, it wasn’t Nicco that got us to the playoff, it was the D and our running game!

The sky is the limit.

Would be helpful to have wings, though.

It was the Defense, running game (Nico included), Nico’s arm, and Donte’s speed that got us to the playoffs.

He was a significant part of the 2024 team.
NOW he isn’t
- that doesn’t mean he never made said impact
- that doesnt mean Tennessee is hurting for QB skills
- and that doesnt mean we can’t make the playoffs.

WE DONT HAVE TO COMPLETELY DELEGITIMIZE a players actual contributions just because he did Tennessee wrong.

What do we do?
We CHEER AGULAR or MERK, or GMAC.

Exactly …. This is his attempt at damage control.
