It's Prediction Season...JD Pickell says 9-3

His predictions are, like the rest, predictable.

The Vols will beat UGA at home. Alabama and Florida are probably a split.

JA will be one of the SEC top QBs.

UT's run game will be top notch again....obviously.

UT's defense will be intense, dominant, flying around, and #1 in the SEC.

Our beloved Volunteers will be among the top football teams in the SEC and the nation.

GBO

On3 is weak sauce.

I also think we go 9-3 most likely.

Pickell picks LSU to win the SEC fwiw....most have them finishing 4th.
Ill take 9-3. Im kinda scared this year. But at the same time optimistic. Because we won 10 games last yr with subpar qb play. Nico threw 2tds COMBINED against bama, fla, uga, arky, oklahoma and OSU. And we still swung 10 wins. Joey is going to be boom or bust im afraid. He is going to hit bigger downfield plays we didnt see last year, but also hit some head scratching ints.

I think LSU is a trendy pick right now. With Nuss coming back as 5th year guy I can see it, but I’m still not sold on Kelly being the guy there. Something has always just not seemed quite right, even though he’s produced a Heisman trophy winning QB and a prolific offense.

Win those but lose to Oklahoma, Arkansas, and UK. Good season?

Exactly.

We will be underdogs in all 3 games. 2 out of those 3 have won multiple Championships in the last decade and have recruiting classes ranked top 3 every single year in UGA and Bama. Flarda has a roster with just as much talent as ours, a QB with a full season starting in the SEC under his belt in which he was scary good at times, and its in the Swamp where great UT teams historically get beat by even bad Flarda teams with backups or even WRs starting at QB.

BOT made a woman/liberal post. Nothing to do with reality, logic, or reason...just 100% emotion in the equation.

Interesting team. Still comes down to QB. This is a pretty good team if that question is answered with something better than last year. If it is Aguilar then he needs to take care of the ball. If Merklinger then he's got to learn how not to play tight.

So defense? Special teams? OL? WR? None of them matter just who the QB is?

Of course. I just think those things can be good or even very good and the season be mediocre if we don't get good QB play.

I think the D could be better. Not that sure about the kickers. Return game could be really good if Boo gets his head strapped on. I personally think the RB group is stout. The OL is talented but a TBD group. The WRs are talented. The TEs look pretty good.

If 9 wins are the middle mark then IMO the QB play could be the difference where we land in that 7 to 11 win range.
