The Detroit Lions will take on the Los Angeles Chargers in the NFL Hall of Fame preseason game at 8:00 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock. With no reason to start Jared Goff this early in the preseason, Hendon Hooker will have his chance to orchestrate the Lions’ offensive game plan against the Chargers from Canton, OH.

Allen starting but Hooker will get his opportunity to compete.

You can always trust it will be an exciting time whenever a Hooker is orchestrating.

Apparently the Lions do not value him. Played him with a group that was 95 % gonna get cut. High risk of getting him injured and zero pass protection for him. Be interesting to see him with the first team offense at some point but I doubt we do based on last night scheme

They are going to start him next game from what I read. They are basically going to do what they’ve been doing in practice with both qbs. They’ll alternate each game on who starts.

Look for Hooker to get cut. The receiver could have bailed Hendon out somewhat, but he let the DB steal the ball. Feel sorry for Hooker, this could be the end of his NFL career; the entire league was watching.

He did not look ready...Shame seems like a good dude.
If he's lucky he'll be Dobbs 2.0 but I don't see it happening.
I think he's probably not too far off from starting his coaching career. He's likely getting cut, and at his age with no experience, I doubt he's an attractive option for anyone's QB room. Plus, them signing Bridgewater off of the street last year for a playoff run basically told the league that the Lions think Hooker is terrible.

It depends on how well he grasps a playbook. If he can grasp that pretty well and know what is supposed to happen when you put on film or draw it on a whiteboard, he can hang around. Also QBs get chances all the time if they aren’t a distraction. I doubt this would be the end for him unless he chose to move on, if he does get cut.
