Reports are that Carter has done community service by visiting the Children's Hospital, something Vols have done for an eternity and it's a great thing. I'm glad the players volunteer their time to bring some joy to sick children.

HOWEVER, media in Nashville are spinning this as Carter being MADE to do this instead of him volunteering his time out of the kindness of his heart.

There have been a lot of rumors about Carter and some have been disproven. The biggest one being that Carter was already out the door when coach came out and said no, he's on the team.

It just seems like to me there is too much spin and speculation going on.

Is it not possible that Carter would just visit the Children's Hospital just because and not because he's being made to? How do you make someone do that anyway?

Our media is a headache. Boo could be a headache but even if he is, our media just needs to shut up about it and let Heupel, Boo, and the staff address. I feel like the media is trying to run him out of Knoxville and I have no idea what is going on with him, his family, etc. There could be more to the story and it isn't fair to jump on and judge this kid when we don't know the facts.

Maybe someone that truly knows can shed light. It's pretty disgusting how the Nashville media is just basically portraying Carter as a terrible guy making selfish decisions. Could there be some truth in that? Sure. But is he just good for nothing on his own? That is literally what is being portrayed in Nashville

This sounds like a good summary of my post earlier. We don't know the situation. He could have missed practices due to family situation, etc. These players are not robots, they are human beings. Sure, he could also be pulling a Nico but we don't truly know.

Really no reason to make this post.
When media that reaches close to a million people regionally, in an important recruiting area, is reporting negatively on the Tennessee program...

I have to disagree. It's important to quickly identify and refute such stories if they're not true. Vol fans living in this area need to know so they can respond appropriately.

They're likely working for a Vandy grad, after all!

I am so glad I was in my twenties before cell phones and the internet.
Example, back in the day my soon-to-be mother-in-law asked my soon-to-be wife why she always sees pictures of me lying on the ground. My answer - Boones Farm.
TLDL version - men in their early twenties tend to make choices they later regret.
I feel like Boone's Farm drinkers will have a dedicated commercial to them in 15-20 years.

"If you or a loved one have consumed Boone's Farm, you may be entitled to financial compensation"

Have you got a link to the Nashville media or name of Nashville radio media doing these stories? Thanks.

I suspect he was told a condition for returning is that he does the things his teammates did during the summer while he took time off. That's why, instead of practicing with the team now he's doing the training inside he would have done during the summer. Part of the summer activities included community service. He's just doing the things CJH and the players' council came up with to get back in good graces. All that is just conjecture on my part, so take it with a grain of salt. Either way, he's doing it, so good on him. 😎

Ordering someone to do community service as a requirement for being on the team is within the teams right. I’m not really concerned about the motivation. I only care about the kids and hope he made them happy.

This is what we know..............anything else is unsubstantiated rumor.

"For two practices we have seen Boo Carter doing conditioning work off to the side. Carter also made a community service trip to Children’s Hospital this week as well.

Maybe the most important moment this week for Carter was on Tuesday afternoon/evening when he stood before his teammates and addressed them in a team meeting. Now Carter has to stack good day after good day of doing everything that’s being asked of him to see if he can rejoin his teammates at some point on the practice field. Heupel made it clear there is no timetable on a possible return."

Seems like it is being handled very well. Good learning moment for Boo, a good teaching moment for Heupel, and a good culture building moment for the team
