Tickets are getting ridiculous

True.... but when you have control of the entire market and rabid fans, you can pretty much do as you please.

That’s the mentality of the drive by administrators. It’s a short term cash grab. The long term is somebody else’s problem. Danny will bank at least $10 million. Maybe even $25-$50 million.

I sure miss guys like Gus Manning and Haywood Harris.

Just don't understand the approach given this level of play will be hard to maintain once Barnes hangs it up.

Might have 2-3 more years of this and then turn around and ask the same people to pay a premium for a depreciating product.

Don’t piss off your customer base. Marketing 101.
It’s kind of tricky, though, isn’t it? If you price the tickets low, they get bought by scalpers and cost what they can demand on the secondary market, so the tickets are just as expensive but somebody other than the team gets the money.

I wish tix were still $8. But, today if you plan on competing for a title, then you need to load the coffers. That is possible if the base is strong enough. We need the millions to pay for the 5*s. The 5*s keep you winning. Winning grows the fanbase. Growing the base sells out arenas. Sold out arenas mean ... well you get it.

I don't like the "commercial aspect" either. But, it's THAT or Vanderbilt Football in your future.

I’m not poor and I can’t afford to go to games anymore. It’s sad.
I feel you. Its a weird cycle .. when they were bad and I would use my saved up money to go to games to watch us get thrashed, it was a bad taste .. now we are finally good and I am priced out :-( .. btw I am poor

I'm not here to defend anyone

Unfortunately, this is the new college athletics. Recruiting is mostly about NIL and who has the nicest facilities and that will require routine upgrades. Revenue sharing starts soons so you can expect more pricing bumps across the board until they can meet their budget regularly.

I'm afraid this is the new model if you want to compete with the big boys.

I will stay home and watch games in the comfort of my own home.

Two years ago. I bought 6 Club level seats to the Tennessee-Virginia football game for far less than I can buy 3 lower bowl tickets to the Tennessee-Illinois basketball game. All from Ticketmaster. Ridiculous

I have resigned to the idea that I have been priced out.
