Tennessee football star Boo Carter returned to the practice field as a full participant in the periods open to the media on Tuesday morning.

Carter was in shells with the rest of the team, donning a helmet and shoulder pads. The portion open to the media featured him primarily working on man coverage with other defensive backs.

There’s some things that he’s got to accomplish to get back on the field with us. And don’t have a set timeline on that. Our leadership council has been a part of those things, those discussions with me and with Boo."

Boo has paid his penitence or enough of it to return to the field, if that's good enough for CJH then I'm good with it too. If he has more to pay that's between Boo, the Council and CJH and NONE of our business.

Good. The posters saying he was a "thug" and shouldn't be allowed back look foolish.
preface - I'm not one that has claimed anything about Boo or his background.
But, logically, it's entirely possible for any claims you're referencing to still be true. According to the coach, he has to go through steps to get back in the good graces, and there's ample opportunities for him to fail. I hope he doesn't fail, that he balls out, and that his life is a tremendous success. Time will tell.

Yeah but that’s a far cry from being a “thug”

I’m not addressing this to you but we’ve gotten to a point in this country where we label ppl as the worst of the worst when they annoy us.

Boo not taking care of business and creating needless drama is annoying but doesn’t make him a “thug” it made him annoying. That’s it. But now it’s fixed.

The only one looking foolish is you. Boo is lucky to still be on the team. Hopefully, he has learned a lesson that will help him along his journey in life as well as in football. He has lost valuable time and workouts, and will be lucky to see any offense this year. If he weren't so useful to the team, he would be gone, missing out on the season, as he doesn't have any options until the next portal window.

I did some pretty dumb things when I was his age. I'm glad the whole world wasn't watching.
Exactly. He’s an idiot but most kids at that age are. Really for the most part when you’re that age you’re getting guided through by those around you and you just have to hope they have your best interests in mind. This crap has happened so many times in the past also but there wasn’t as much coverage back then so it got dealt with internally

Before the NIL era guys weren't holding out for money and threatening to leave over whatever issue because they couldn't due to NCAA rules.

Under the old (and illegal) NCAA rules, Boo had play at UT or sit a year as choices. It made guys who went off the rails make decisions more quickly, even if it was illegal.

When I was Boos age I puked on a girl at a party and almost got my ass whipped and 2 hours later arrested for PD while putting my arm down a container of pickled boiled eggs and swishing it around at a market on Chapman hwy with KPD standing behind me.
Past is past. Move on. Never puked again and stayed away from containers of pickled eggs at 1 AM. Live and learn.

Good lord if you farted in that patrol car I would say the arresting officer regretted more than you did. Pickled eggs and beer are damn biological warfare.

you never met any stupid rich boys?
I wasn’t talking about stupid rich boys, I was talking about me. Im saying that if I were getting paid over half a million to lock in and fly right for my football program, I’d hve done less dumb things. Many of my dumb actions were done because I had little to lose.

This isn’t a case of a kid just getting showered with cash and being entitled, as is the case for many “stupid rich boys” I’ve known. The rich people I’ve known who were working for those riches, usually made smart decisions that allowed them to keep making that big money. Clearly it isnt always the case, Im just saying I would have done less dumb things if I were in that position. That’s quite literally what I wrote.
