Not even mentioning the teams Tennessee would beat on this list... but who would put Penn St #1? Allar is an above avg QB with NFL "Traits". The rest of the team is very solid.

But they haven't recruited with the best of them. In fact, most of their recruiting classes, if not the past 5, have been worse than ours. They will not get over the hump until I see it first hand. What makes them the top team without elite talent up and down the roster.

He is, but he has more SEC teams in this top 25 than Big 10 teams.

Klatt loves the BIG 10 and just goes with the hype when it comes to the SEC. Last year he went from worshipping Nico after playing UTC to trashing him two games later after Arkansas.

While he goes with the hype too much, Klatt will also overreact to a team's deficiencies. As it concerns Tennessee, he is overvaluing the loss of Sampson in Heupel's scheme along with undervaluing our QB room.

He's not a complete idiot. My main issue with Klatt over the years has been his slobbering over ND every year probably hoping they'll finally join the B1G.

I know people hate it that we're not on the list this year but other than punching up ND and B1G teams a notch or two, he's usually in the ballpark.

He is obviously trying to get some clicks from upset fans. There is nobody in the country outside of Pennsylvania that believes there is ANY chance of Penn st winning a national championship.

I think being a former QB (and just due to the position being so important in modern football) he gravitates towards teams that have elite QB play. He loved Tennessee and Hendon Hooker in 2022; not as much in 2023 and 2024.

If you look at his list, he's really high on teams that have (or are thought to have) really good QB play.

I would love for us to not be ranked in any of the preseason media polls . You combine us being disrespected by the media, getting our ass kicked in our last game and the whole Nico circus, that’s a good recipe for a hungry pissed off football team . There really are a lot of parallels to 98 in this regard.

Only 12 of his Top 25 teams ended up on the final AP Top 25. Some teams he missed badly with, like Oklahoma State and Florida State.

That's pretty much par for the course for any preseason CFB poll, 10, 12, 15 at most any given year.
