The longtime call-in show featuring Tennessee coaches fielding questions from fans will not be part of the revamped Vol Network lineup as it seeks to pair live programming with on-demand availability to meet fans' changing content needs.

“The way to better serve Tennessee fans is to try to do things in a way where they have more access and they have more availability, while helping our coaches," said Mike Keith, the new "Voice of the Vols."

UT and Vol Network announced on Aug. 7 the lineup for the 2025-26 season, which includes "The Mike Keith Show" from 3-5 p.m. ET on Thursday nights with Keith and coach Josh Heupel during football season. Fans can submit questions via UT's social media accounts to the show, which will run from Aug. 28 through May 1

Translation: Josh hates doing live call in shows and they decided to go another route.
You can submit questions via social media where they can screen the questions and answer what they want. Good luck with that.
What’s wrong with this ? Our coach shouldn’t be wasting his precious time fielding live calls from our fans anyway.
And it helps to avoid a Tyler from Spartanburg incident.

I thought they screened calls on VC?

I don't remember too many calls being critical of coaching decisions

Probably nothing. They’re all doing a fabulous job of ignoring the average fan’s needs now so why stop. And when I say “they”, I mean college football in general. Not just this situation. Just add it to the list.

Fan engagement is an important part of the job. If Nick Sirianni can go on radio shows with fans and hosts alike calling for his head and win a Super Bowl, I think Heupel could probably go on state run media and field some screened questions

The problem is the engagement is with about 5 fans who just want to be on the radio. It provides no real info.
