Exactly. My daughter was a college athlete who had 3 ACL repairs almost 20 yrs ago. Much was learned from her 1st to her 3rd, and SO MUCH more is now known in more recent yrs.It's amazing how far medical science has progressed. 20 to 25 years ago he would have been lost for the season. It's crazy how fast ACL tears can be rehabbed now
Yes. The first time they used cadaver tissue. Not good. In later ones, used her own hamstring material, and in last one, some kind of cris-crossing at the knee, a stronger set-up. The first doc was here in Baton Rouge, last one was a guy in Dallas area who had worked on women on our national team in soccer. And this all many years ago; I'm sure it's more advanced now than then.Did the surgery change?
