Love a good grumor

I watched an interview with him. He was closer to taking the TN job than most thought. He was actually contacting Assistant Coach's. Not sure why it fell through. He was honest, he said he loved to win so much, he would have had us on probation. But now with NIL, that changes things

He was never coming to UT. Some of y’all fall for it every single time. He is the Jimbo Fisher of the NFL. One good season and a bunch of pretty good to pretty average ones. If you take away the SB season, his career looks very mediocre. If you take away the NC season from Fisher, I can assure you he wouldn’t have an 80 million dollar contract to go away. He is a Jameis Winston injury away from becoming Mark Richt

And what makes anyone think he would be a good coach?
It’s just the classic “he did good in the League at one point, so he’d win championships here” mindset people get. Exact same mentality that led to Arizona State hiring Herm Edwards, and going 18-20 with him.

Gruden in the early 2000s and Gruden in his second tenure with the Raiders were two entirely different coaches. He’d have been just as mediocre here, imo.
