The most notable development from Tuesday morning was top LEO Joshua Josephs was back on the field for the first time since very early in camp. The senior has been dealing with what’s been termed a “nagging” issue, so his return to any sort of practice participation is a positive. Josephs was in a regular orange defensive jersey this morning.
There were two red No. 4s out there this morning with both wide receiver Mike Matthews and cornerback Ty Redmond working in non-contact jerseys.
The open periods this morning did not include routes-on-air, so all we saw quarterbacks Jake Merklinger, Joey Aguilar and George MacIntyre do was go through mesh-point drills with the running backs and then work on pocket-presence drills.
Tennessee appeared to be less than full strength on the offensive line this morning, which led to some different combinations in half-line drills than we’ve seen. Freshman offensive tackle David Sanders Jr. was mostly a spectator during the one period of individual drills. Redshirt freshman offensive tackle Jeremias Heard was in the weight room as practice continued and we didn’t see redshirt sophomore Shamurad Umarov out there while we were out there.
So the first group on the offensive line had Lance Heard at left tackle, Wendell Moe Jr. at left guard, William Satterwhite at center, Sam Pendleton at right guard and Jesse Perry at right tackle.

Tennessee football continued its preseason camp work with a Tuesday morning workout inside the Anderson Training Facility as Haslam Practice Field was taking in on a lot of water. The team would have went outside after the media was gone, but for the time period we were present, Tennessee remained indoors.
Jake Merklinger (go-pro) appeared to be going first in the rotation this morning in drills, followed by Joey Aguilar and then George MacIntyre. The quarterbacks and running backs were going through mesh drills with the quarterbacks carrying out their fakes in the zone-read. The quarterbacks then worked on pocket presence, moving their feet in the pocket and keeping their eyes down the field while shielding hits from the pad by a GA.
Chris Brazzell looked to be going full speed through the drills, but was seen moving slow at times in-between reps as he continues getting back in the swing of things.
Joshua Josephs was back in the fold this morning and that was a great sign. Jermod McCoy continued getting some work during individual.
We didn’t get to see the whole thing obviously, but it looked like Jeremiah Telander was off to the side getting warmed up and was set to rejoin his position group for the rest of individual while we were walking off the field.
During specialty work, Boo Carter, DeSean Bishop, Edrees Farooq and Mike Matthews were seen working at punt returner.

There were some new injury notes on the offensive line. Jeremias Heard was working in the weight room. I was also unable to spot Sham Umarov who continues to compete for the starting right guard spot.
Sticking with the offensive line, Sam Pendleton was not doing at least one drill with the centers as William Satterwhite, Max Anderson and Nic Moore rotated at the spot. Also notable on the offensive line, David Sanders was out there fully dressed out but was just holding his helmet and didn’t go through any drills while I watched. Maybe he did more after we left practice, but that was notable.
With Sanders not going through drills, Jesse Perry was the right tackle, Pendleton was the right guard, Satterwhite was the center, Wendell Moe Jr. was the left guard and Lance Heard was the left tackle.
Boo Carter, Rickey Gibson and Jermod McCoy continue to go through drills. McCoy was not wearing shoulder pads but did a little more drill work during Tuesday’s practice.
Colton Hood upgraded from a red non contact jersey into a yellow light contact jersey. Jeremiah Telander was also in a yellow jersey after being in a red jersey Monday which was a good step in the right direction. Ty Redmond remained in a red non contact jersey for the second straight day.

Tuesday was originally going to be the last practice of camp open to the media but they changed their mind and will now let us watch a couple minutes Thursday. So for a second straight day, here are our penultimate practice notes and observations of camp. Woe unto us.

All good news 👇

Chris Brazzell looked to be going full speed through the drills, but was seen moving slow at times in-between reps as he continues getting back in the swing of things.
Joshua Josephs was back in the fold this morning and that was a great sign. Jermod McCoy continued getting some work during individual.

We have 2. Carter had one on same day Merk did several practices back. No other mention of Carter or anyone else on D using. Who knows why they're only using one. Probably wouldn't use in full contact.
IDK it's just if they are giving valuable information about what QBs are looking at, I don't really understand why all 3 aren't wearing one each day. I'm sure I'm misisng something.

What is Eric Cain's problem?? This is getting ridiculous.
-Jake Merklinger (go-pro) appeared to be going first in the rotation this morning in drills, followed by Joey Aguilar and then George MacIntyre.

Elijah Nixon's video clearly shows Aguilar, Merklinger then MacIntyre at the 02 mark.

Any info on how Heard is looking at LT and Moe, or others, are looking at LG?

Heard really struggled last year. Hoping to see a lot of improvement there.
Haven't heard anything on Moe

Could be that whatever they’re using it for just isn’t worth having the other two guys wear one that day. Could be the one wearing it is making the most mistakes. Could be they’re evaluating his snap read ability and eye placement. Impossible to know, so all we can do is speculate. I’m almost positive we’ve got two more GoPros available if the coaches really wanted to use them, haha.

Cain is the type who would mess up a free lunch, as they say. Not the sharpest tool in the shed.

Not sure about the reasoning here, but I work in an industry where we use GoPro cameras to evaluate product builder / assembler behaviors for things like ergonomics, work space efficiency, wasted movements, etc.

At times we get too much information, meaning you can't discern the good things from the things that need corrected. especially if you have more than one person wearing a camera on the line. Maybe that's why they only have one QB wear the camera at a time - they want to focus on that one guy that one day.

yeah I am guessing that the bottleneck is the time needed to look at the tape by people with the knowledge to actuallty be able to draw smart conclusions. So maybe we need another analyst!

Being bad at your job is one thing, but as a reporter, being deliberately deceptive is something else. I guess you wouldn't be doing this job if you weren't a fan and all fans have preferences, but as a journalist, putting out bad information intentionally is not a good for his career. I'm just curious as to why...what does he think is going to happen by manipulating the truth?
