QB competition vs Prep for Game 1 -How much prep is preferred

As the coaches and QBs go thru the QB competition, when do you think they make a decision?

We know getting the chosen starter as much prep with the 1s is invaluable. But picking the right guy is more important, lol.

Do they make the decision and just not announce it? Keep Syracuse guessing... only Augliar(sp) has film so not sure that makes sense.

I'm in the camp of May the best man win.
But I do think the starter needs two weeks to allow the offense to gel. Possibly after this weekend. What say you?

Historically, usually about 10 days before gameday is when you want to start getting your 1st team guys the practice reps.

Heup has history in waiting but did announce JM over HH in 21.

After three weeks of not naming the starting quarterback publicly before game day, UCF head coach Josh Heupel did just that ahead of the Knights' matchup against the UConn Huskies.

just guessing but before next scrimmage Heup will have his QB1 but whether he tells us or not remains to be seen

I wish he'd announce it. Let your team leaders be known. Bama and other schools have announced their QB1
I'm betting Syracuse is going to game plan for JA regardless

No reason for Heupel to play games. Basilly-o will break the news before Heupel even makes the decision. He's just that connected dontcha know.
