I am sure it is. All indications from media were that Merk was leader until first scrimmage where he played bad and followed that up with a bad practice, GMAC had the best scrimmage but is under sized and JA maybe has been the most consistent but is prone to turnovers. I trust CJH to make the best decision for the team.

With the pretty late start to the presser and Coach wearing his cap pretty low and having an "all business" demeanor, not a hint of a joke or jovial Heupel smile, I wonder if Josh tore a couple of new ones after the scrimmage.

He had that look of a coach who just cussed a bunch of players and couldn't wait to get back to the locker room to cuss them some more.

Funny I was thinking the same thing his demeanor doesn't indicate a good scrimmage today.

I get that doing press is annoying and really a waste of his time but he seemed particularly clipped, almost resentful, toward all the questions.

I don't dislike it but I'm glad I'm not sitting in that locker room. Coach is not a happy camper.

Yup! A coach can talk to his players through the media... but he can't talk to the media without also talking to his players.

Coach Heupel doesn't owe me as a fan anything, beyond coaching up his players who (and whose effort and accomplishments) make me proud to support them.

Maybe he was annoyed from the scrimmage or maybe he just wants to get to work with team and not have to answer the "hard hitting" eye roller questions they always throw out in these. Either way, he very clearly, visibly doesn't want to be up there lol.

He’s not gonna name a starter until game week. This is exactly what we expected. Let the competition play out and give guys a chance to go win it.

Most worrying thing about the press conference was how terse he was with Boo’s status.

Does not seem thrilled. I wonder if the extra days of camp he mentioned were already planned or the result of today's scrimmage/recent days of practice?
