Globl Jam - non Lady Vol question

I just saw that Texas WBB is playing in this tournament as the USA representative team. Does anyone know how they got chosen? That certainly seems to give them a training advantage over the rest of the teams in the SEC, at least in my opinion.

By the way, they are leading Canada at halftime in the championship game, as I type.

I couldn’t find an explanation while Googling. It appears that Canada did come back and beat Texas for the championship. Texas beat them earlier in the week.

Would it not be similar to how the Vols men's team went to Spain ot Italy a few summers ago?
