Do you think Oklahoma goes after coach Huepel after this season?

Chances are Venables is probably going to be garbage again and I'm not going to be surprised to see them go full throttle after Josh.

Do you think he leaves us for them?
I hope not. But they would be foolish not to try, assuming Oklahoma struggles this season.

Here's to an 8 win season for the Sooners with a loss served to them in Knoxville.🍻🍻

Just an interesting topic and football season is just around the corner so I'm antsy lol

Fair enough…

To answer your question, there’s no doubt in my mind that he still loves Oklahoma.

However, it’ll go down to whether or not Heupel values his alma mater over building his own legacy at the University of Tennessee.

Hopefully he coaches here for a long time.

They'll for sure come after him, they'd be dumb not to. He's a tier 1 coach and alum. The question is will the fact that he was scape goated out of there have an impact on his decision...if not.....he gone. Jmo. Lane Kiffin dream job all over again

If Tennessee has another good season and happens to make the playoffs, I would think hype would stay. Why go to Oklahoma and rebuild when you have Tennessee rolling?

On the other hand, if Tennessee doesn’t have a good year, he’d be dumb not to leave. Let’s be honest, Tennessee takes a lot to be successful, it’s not an easy place to win as a head coach like 20 plus years ago.

This is one of many weekly topics pitched by most streamers and columnists.. If you haven’t caught one of the hundreds of streams where this has been discussed, it will surely play again and again throughout the season as Heupel and Venables fill out their 2025 season records.

Tradition and loyalty don’t amount to anything in college football these days. A program is only as good as the amount of money they can spend. Surely Heupel is no different than wanting to coach where he has the best chance to win.

I think OU could be a playoff team this year, or they could miss a bowl. I think they have a wide range of realistic outcomes. Hoping they do fairly well with a loss in Knoxville, but I imagine they would kick the tires if and when their job comes open.

I think OU will make a run at him

Going to be a difficult decision on his part no doubt.

In the end though OU would be the ones who turned their backs to Heupel. Josh seems like a no nonsense what you see is what you get kinda guy.

He has a large number of things going for him here- rabid fanbase that supports him, good working relationship with D White, recruiting is going well.

Continue on the path you have forged on your own or answer the call to "come home" and having to work in a way different than what you want. I suspect Josh will listen to them but in the end fool me once shame on you fool me twice shame on me

iF he goes (I give it a 10% chance), I'm most likely not gonna hate him very much for it-at least after the emotional reaction stage ha ha. He's not gonna do a Kiff and sneak out in the middle of the night-I have faith in that. He answered the call to come here when few would have and made our Vols fun to watch again. If he decides Norman is the place for him and what would make him happiest, then so be it.

#1-I think Oklahoma will have a good year and will even be a tough game for us.

2-Why does people think Oklahoma would be Heupel’s dream job? He only played there 2 years and was fired as a coach from there and basically made to look like the scapegoat for the bad season they had.
