This Gameday in Columbus Saturday will be Lee Corso's last game. He wanted to end his career where he started. His first ever headgear pick was in 1996 in Columbus. He was no Keith Jackson but has been a part of my college football experience for 30 years. I will miss him. Especially now that ESPN is going to the Frat bro's like Pat McAfee.

Well, with all that’s being said in this thread, I want to acknowledge your choice of pic. 👍🏼

F'n Pat McAfee...he acts like frat bro that drinks pre-workout at every meal.

Corso should’ve probaly stepped down about a decade ago but still i will miss him. He literally made Gameday what it is and was very entertaining to watch. He’s irreplaceable .
Yup but Gameday is probably what has kept him going. We see it all to often when a person up in ages stops doing something they loved doing and not have something else to fill that gap, they don't usually hang around much longer 😔

While it’s time for him to retire, he will be missed. I’m not a big fan of the over the top McAfee.
Yeah at first I’m like “he loves him some Vols”…then u watch the next weekend and he’s all over them too. Think he leans a bit to UT way because of Peyton, but he’s gotten to where u don’t know if he can make any reasonable points because of all the rah rah stuff.

Was just coming here to say something similar.

I have a bad feeling we will be eulogizing Corso before the season ends-and that makes me incredibly sad

At times I have loved the guy and at other times I have hated him, but I can't deny that he has been a huge part of my CFB experience. Also sobering to realize that my ilk will be the next ones up.

Fair winds coach.
