So I am up in Oak Ridge visiting my in laws, and I open the Friday KNS to the sports section. I read the editorial from John Adams, and it is surprisingly spot on. I finish his column, look up at the top of that page and there is a half-page article on how UCLA and Iamaleava are ready to unveil their prep work. Seriously KNS? What are they thinking? Is this their idea of a joke? Is there anyone reading this paper who gives a sh!t about UCLA and how their new quarterback is working out for them? SERIOUSLY??? Either they are so out of touch with their readership that they thought we might be 'interested', or some prick USA Today sports editor thought it would be funny to rub it in our face. It was the second-biggest article in the whole sports section, behind the one about the Ryder Cup. Give us an article about the new offensive line, or the kicking game, or why the Pride has re-routed the March to the Stadium and moved the Salute To The Hill. They could even do what they have started doing and that is barely including any sports in their paper at all. I can only speak for myself, but I don't care about UCLA, except to hope that they lose every game until they finally give up football for good. (Is that excessive?) Anyway, I just couldn't believe my eyes and I had to say something about it. I pay for this drivel so that I can read about the Vols when I come up here and visit. This is nonsense, and it is likely going to be why I finally cancel this subscription.

It got you talking about it. That was the goal.

There was a Yahoo Sports article I came across earlier with a title worded in a sympathetic way about Nico and his family. I didn’t click on it. There have been at least three articles now from writers who have little to no connection to the team where the narrative is to try to paint Nico and his family in a better light and smear Tennessee. Resist the urge to click on the articles.

Thanks for posting and reinforcing my decision to cancel KNS a few years ago. When there was little to no coverage of the local HS football teams heading into playoffs I realized I was out of synch and discovered there are online sites that were catering to my exact wants (no not porn) so we follow the local teams that way and my blood pressure doesn't go up reading John Adams

Where you went wrong was visiting the in-laws.

Seriously, a little rage baiting is what is happening. You can rage on Nico or KNS but they know you're probably not completely ignoring both, if only to rage a bit more at them. It's how we humans operate. We're a bit like domestic cats who'll kill something then keep checking to make sure it's dead, kinda hoping it isn't.

They know you'll keep thinking about it and that's the goal. Relax. Move on. And remember, nothing good ever happens at the in-laws house..... except that one time when y'all were young and they ran off to the store for about 10 minutes then came home really quietly. That was exciting.

If the vols struggle this year, there will be a lot of hate watching of the Bruins. I've never in my life intentionally watched a ucla game. I will now.

It got you to go on a message board and tell a bunch of people about it. Sounds like it was a successful article.

You’re 25-30 years too late. Trashed THEM over primarily HIM way back in history. The print industry was trending down, but he advanced the decline locally by a factor of 10.
