I think it’s a great time to reflect and look back at the absolute mess that Tennessee athletics was for a while and more importantly: WHERE WE ARE NOW.
We made the college football playoffs in its first year. Football recruiting hasn’t been this good since the 90s. We have a coach that loves Tennessee, loves the players, and wants to be here.
Tennessee basketball is the best it’s ever been and consistent. We have a legend of a basketball coach who absolutely loves the university, the state, and all the fans. Recruiting in basketball is at the highest level that I can remember as well.
Tennessee baseball is the envy of the nation. Our coach not only loves the school but has created an atmosphere that players want to be in and fans want to attend.
Tennessee women’s basketball is right there ready to break through in year two under new leadership. I think Pat Summit would be proud.
I could go on about the other sports that are excelling as well.
All of this is because we have the best athletic director in the country and it’s not even close. Danny White has changed the culture around the athletic department. Each program supports each other, and I genuinely believe the coaches get along and enjoy and piggyback on the success of each other.
Looking forward to 2025 volunteer football tomorrow and surprising the nation of how good we can be.
