Back just for today, actually cam looking for the religious forum, couldn't find it. Now, about our Vols, sigh! I think that unless the defense upscales, we will be a 7 - 6 or 8 - 5 team. Joey looked good because Syracuse's new-look OL was out muscled, not well-prepared, and not as good as they will be as the season wears on. Their unproven receivers are actually pretty good. As for our own orange men, let's see how Joey fairs when an opponent has the front four and LBs to get in his face. He was not really challenged in the Syracuse game, he had enormous time to find open receivers during the game. Better teams aren't going to give him that kind of time. So the OL hopefully gets even better, because clearly, if he has time, he's darn good at getting the ball to receivers and TEs. I see us leaning heavily on the RBs, and they will deliver, alll three of them. And Star Thomas will be mostly the heavy hitter. He and Peyton may prove to be our best combo backs, I like how they run with authority. I do be;ieve reality will mean Joey will be forced to use our TEs a lot, a lot, lot, in the passing game as we go into the meat of our games this season. 7 and 6 or 8 and 5 is what I see unless that defense upscales to be what is expected and needed.

OK, nye, I'm away again. Won't be seeing VN for a while, might peek in without signing in to see how we're doing, if time allows.

I disagree. We will only go as far as the offense let's us. Joey and the wrs looked solid at times and rough a lot too. Can say first game nerves.

The defense had timely sacks and turnovers. Just need to clean up the 3rd/4th and longs and stay healthy, which is a big if.

Still see 9 wins possibly 10.

Did you not see any of the Bama game? Nothing about that game changed my mind about UT's ability to beat them. Their O-line is not good and Simpson didn't look like he knew what he was doing. Williams sure didn't look like the superstar everybody is making him out to be. FSU wasn't even trying to pass and they ran it all over the Bama defense. Joey will continue to get better and the offense will improve. Bama doesn't scare me at all.

Defense was solid in the first half. They were on the field way too much in the second half when we went conservative. To be honest, I think they were gassed. I love up tempo offense but you have to get a few first downs or in less than two minutes your defense is right back out there. I think that the defense was on the field like 70% of the third quarter.

They bowed up and got the stop when they needed to in the fourth when it was a 12 point game. 5 sacks, a pick and a fumble return for a TD. I think they had a B+ day. Not bad.
