in a couple of seasons, the JH playbook looked like the one he used at UCF. He pulled multiple linemen, used TEs and HBacks as lead blockers, and elements of all the offenses he merged to create his system (veer, wing T, West Coast, inside/outside zone, Air Raid, etc) appeared last night. I think he finally has full confidence in his offensive line. This season could be a lot of fun.

Yet...I think it was STILL "Vanilla" to what we may see this Season...

The thing that stood out to me was the small sample of up tempo we saw and the fact that Aguilar appeared to be able to manage it.
It may not equate to success but I have a funny feeling we come out like our @$$ is on fire, against Georgia.

I think the play calling was more about finally having trust in a QB. Milton was terrible and Nico struggled.
Was great to see the offense opened up and some nice deep shots

It probably was tough on him last 2 seasons to only be able to use a small part of his offense due to Milton and Nico's inability to handle more of it. He is like a kid in a toy store now. (sorry Blood, you posted right before me and I didn't see yours)

Joey also had time in the pocket to let plays develop. Not sure how much of that was our O lineman (they did look like grown ass men in warmups on TV), Syracuse not having SEC/BIG 10 level defense line speed, and us catching them on their heals with tempo. Prob all the above

I still think it's more about confidence in the O line. Even with Hooker, the blocking schemes were much simpler than what he used at UCF. And for the record, I'm a retired O line coach, so I'm always going to give more credit (and blame) to the big uns up front.
