I believe the polls will update once all the ranked teams have played (after the Catholics vs Convicts game today). It will be interesting to see how the AP pollsters correct their poor preseason judgement.

The Vols appeared closer to the 18th place ranking we received in the Coaches Poll more so than the 24th place AP ranking. Not only did we beat the spread, we got up on it early and never really lost control.

Next week, I expect the AP may move us up significantly to around 18th and perhaps the Coach’s poll may see an increase to around 16th.

What are your projections? FSU will be moving up (maybe even ahead of the Vols).

Polls will be out Tuesday as TCU/North Carolina play Monday night.

Vols will be in that 15-20 range I'd imagine. If you're someone that buys in to "media fixes polls for matchups to a point", may be closer to the 15 side of that so after week 2 they can rank us as high as possible for a marquee matchup with Georgia/make it a top 12 matchup.

There were no losses by teams close to us in the AP poll. The closest team to a potential drop is #17 Kansas State with a three point win over North Dakota. I do not see us moving up in the AP poll. We could potentially see a drop to 25 due to FSU moving into the top 25.

If USC jr gets whipped by Va Tech we could see a bump in the coaches poll.

Down a spot from 8 to 9 but look at the projected W-L for Bubba after that L. 6.8-5.3 jiminy

Chances to make the playoffs from 42.4% to 49.9% compared to earlier in the week. Their chances to win the SEC conference also saw a nice climb to 8.6%. ESPN FPI also gave the Vols some love on making the national championship game with a 9.5% chance after their victory on Saturday.

#17 or so. Another round of losses around the nation next week should push us up to the point of having a top-15 matchup in Neyland versus Georgia in 2 weeks.

The FPI move in indeed strange. Tennessee was ranked 8 and played Syracuse which was ranked 63. USC was ranked 14 and played Missouri State with a ranking of 119. USC moves up eight spots. Tennessee loses a spot and goes to 9. Syracuse only loses four spots, while Missouri State loses FOURTEEN spots. This move is absolutely illogical, unless you factor bias into the equation, Then it makes sense, but only as a popularity contest with the voters being the ESPN staff.

Youngstown State should definitly be ranked above us with Ohio State on their schedule(maybe).Yankee "sportswriters" do not consider any southern team equal to the beloved OSU/Mic

Personally, I wouldn’t worry about rankings until the UT/UGA game is over.

Agreed, not important until after UGA....that said I think we'll jump up to make the UGA/Tenn game more enticing to the masses outside of the 2 fan bases.

Kansas state also lost a game already on top of barely beating an FCS team. They didn't update the AP poll after week 0.

If bama only wins 7 games this year there are going to be so many domestic disturbance calls in trailer parks in that state this year.

K.State lost in week 0, this will be the first poll since. They will drop behind us

Football has died off heavily here post Saban. The die hard Alabama fans are going fishing and playing golf with their money now. They will still watch the games; but the fanatic, crazy mentality is gone.

I know people that spent multiple $1,000’s a year attending games; that can’t name more than 8-10 players on the team anymore.

If there’s a disturbance at the local trailer park, it’s most likely meth or a cheating husband 🤣

FSU will jump into the top 12 most likely. Texas and Ohio State will swap spots. Clemson will fall 2-3 slots. I think a lot of writers thought Nico leaving was a death sentence, thus the 24th ranking. Some may course correct a bit, but they are usually stubborn as all get out.
