Well, now that everyone in the SEC can pay good money, like Bama always did and got away with, there’s a significant amount of parity! In fact, I don’t think you fix the Bama problem…even with the second coming of Bear Bryant, because now everyone in CFB and especially the SEC has a descent shot at recruiting (thanks to NIL and the portal). GBO!This is why polls are a waste of time offseason and early season. We never should have been ranked 24th by the AP journalism majors who know nothing about our actual roster. We have no reason at this point to be ranked in the top10 for beating handily an unranked Syracuse team. The truth almost certainly lies somewhere in between. We are probably the 12th to 15th best team in the nation right now missing McCoy,maybe Gibson too, our 2 starting Dtackles, etc.
Could everything come together this season perfectly and our injured players get back to 100% soon, and we squeak into the playoffs...yes thats possible. Far more likely IMO that we go 9-3 or maybe even 8-4 if we have injuries/problems and end up on the outside looking in ranked in the low or middle teens. Luckily texas and bama already have 1 loss so unless LSU or UGA runs the table nobody is getting through the SEC schedule unscathed. The parity in the SEC is so much better than the days when Bama steamrolled everybody for a decade. Now that everyone pays players we get much better football. Go VOLS
Wishful thinking. They may wander in the desert for a while but they will be back. They love football in Bama, they just have questionable decision making skills.Well, now that everyone in the SEC can pay good money, like Bama always did and got away with, there’s a significant amount of parity! I think they are dealing with the loss of one of the greatest coaches of all-time moreso than being affected by NIL. They still have the No. 2 most talented roster in CFB according to the Talent Composite. DeBoer is just a massive step back in the coaching acumen department. Lots of teams have talent, always have, Saban's gift was always not only being able to assemble the talent but ALSO being able to get 110% out of them.Well, now that everyone in the SEC can pay good money, like Bama always did and got away with, there’s a significant amount of parity!
