Do you think this is the year we beat Georgia? A win sets us up to roll into Tuscaloosa undefeated and controlling our own destiny in the SEC championship race. And obviously this is the only other losing streak Heupel hasn’t ended yet so yea a win would be massive for him the team and us fans . Unfortunately i’m just not that confident we can pull it off with the injuries we are already having on the defense. And Kirby just really gets his team motivated for Tennessee it seems maybe cause he never beat us as a player at georgia i dunno. I think much like 2022 we will have to outscore our opponents but we haven’t scored more than 17 points against Georgia under Heupel. A loss isn’t the end of the world we know from last season that going 10-2 in the SEC will get you in the playoff but man it would be nice to beat those leg humpers and shut there arrogant fans up for a change.

Not trying to be the wet towel, but even with their new QB, Georgia just outclasses us across the field.

On offense: they have an experienced and healthy OL and good weapons to get the ball to at RB, TE, and WR. Kirby is also the best coach in the country right now. Stockton doesn't have to play his best game to beat us, because he is surrounded by talent.

On defense: its a Kirby Smart led team. They have studs everywhere. They are smart. They prep and know how to beat our pace and space offense, like they have the last 4 years.

TheFilmGuy on Youtube (a Georgia homer, keep in mind) has said it best: teams simply do not beat Kirby by out scheming him. You have to have the jimmies and joes along with the X's and O's. This is why I doubt Heupel will beat him. Until we are within spitting distance talent wise, we will struggle. Their roster is LOADED with talent. Georgia is going to be a contender this year.

We’ve got a shot. Going to come down to hitting 🧨 and maintaining drives. We were solid on 3rd down against Cuse but we know UGA is a different animal defensively.

This game will be similar to last year’s but we have to play 60 minutes. No letdowns. Would be nice if we could force 1 or 2 turnovers and be clean ourselves.

I think we’ll need to score 27-31 points to win. But I give us a shot. I’m tired of Georgia. Let’s go get em! GBO

Monken is gone. They almost lost to tech last year. Yes we have a great chance to upset them. Question is will we.

It will be Stockton's first true road game....it will be a shock to his system, especially if we can get some early pressure.
On the flip side, Stockton is a Junior and has been in the system for a while. He also has been on the sidelines for some big games.

I doubt Neyland rattles him. Again, he doesn't even need to play his best game to beat us. He just has to get the ball to his playmakers, which Smart and Bobo are more than capable of coaching him to do.

To be fair, it will be Aguilar's first SEC game as well.

But that doesn't change my answer. Yes, we have a chance.

Anytime you have a good offensive line and playmakers on defense you have a chance.

I am not saying that Tech is a better team than us last year, but I take rivalry games with a little bit of salt.

Tech saw what their TEs did to us, and schemed appropriately. They forced Beck to beat them with his arm in situations where he struggled. They really forced him into deep ball situations where his completion % dropped a lot. We didn't adjust at all.

On offense, Tech runs the same type of O that Vandy does: use every second, every down, and shorten the game (funny enough with all the OTs it was a SUPER long game lol). You saw what Vandy did to Bama last year, and Tech did to Georgia: if the QB can just keep generating 3-4 yards and keep the ball, then you have a chance.

It is comparing apples to oranges. We run a much faster and explosive scheme, but when it fails, we are derailed.

I don’t believe this. Watch the Tech game vs Georgia last year and tell me Tech didn’t have a chance to win. All tech had was transcendent QB play and they were within spitting distance of knocking them off but didn’t have a defense to match. If Joey brings his A game we have enough weapons to beat them on both sides of the ball. With the help of Neyland, I like our chances.

You think more highly of ga than I do. I'm confident their peak is behind them.

i’m not sold on Gunner yet.
Stockton is dangerous, and unknown. Not much field time, but he has paid his dues and been in Kirby's sytem for a while now. Was a tremendous HS QB. Prob the most mobile QB Kirby has had. He is all Dawg and will not roll over easily. Whether or not he can truly carry the torch remains to be seen.

They won the SEC championship last year, and who knows how they would have faired against ND with Beck (who just beat ND this weekend lol).

They are still close to their peak. I do think NIL and the portal have made other teams more competitive, but as long as Smart is there with an embarrassment of riches roster, then they will be contenders.
