I'll be honest, there's not much, but I will always make sure we have this up.

-We get $575,000 for this game, just remember that.

-Don't forget the real season starts on September 13th with West Georgia.

-Probably around a 56-10 loss.

-Would guess that tempo would not work in our favor this game. Going 3-out and giving them the ball back in 40 seconds is probably a bad idea. Taking my son down for this first experience at Neyland. It's something he'll never forget. Looking forward to it.

-Believe it or not, a 56-10 loss would be an improvement on both sides of the scoreboard compared to our last visit in 2018 (59-3).

-Realistically, it’ll probably get ugly early. But what I want to see is our defense fly around and not be intimidated. If we force a turnover or score once on offense, that’s a memory these guys will never forget.

-Our O-line is going to have its hands full. If we can just run for positive yards early and not go three-and-out every series, I’ll call it a win.

-Biggest stage most of our guys will EVER play on. Just hope they soak it in and don’t get shell-shocked when that place gets loud.

-This isn’t about the score. It’s about staying healthy for SoCon play. Tennessee’s got athletes we just don’t see week-to-week. I’d be shocked if it isn’t 35–0 by halftime.

-Best case scenario: we hang around for a quarter, maybe force a punt or get a field goal, then reality sets in. Worst case? They name their score. Either way, it’s a paycheck game.

-Yeah, this one’s going to be rough. But hey, our guys get to experience SEC speed up close. That’ll pay off when we’re back in conference play.

-Let’s be real, we’re walking into a buzzsaw. Our depth just isn’t anywhere close to theirs. If we can get out of there without half the roster in the training room, I’ll call that a win.

Main thing for both of us is to keep injury free for the rest of our seasons. Meanwhile we can work out the kinks and both of our teams can get some experience. I say we go up 21 then we start throwing the other half of the team in to get reps.
Yep, stay/get healthy for UGA, get 2's/3's their reps, and tighten up the passing game a bit...WR drops and a few high passes from JA.

"Kakaroo Black" a popular daily podcast guy for Bama, thinks UT is the 2nd best team in his top 5 after week one. He was very impressed with our QB and offense and thinks we will be a playoff contender. I have listened to this guy before, and he seems to be very objective with his commentary. He was harder on Bama than most UT fans for their first pitiful performance. 👍

His Ranking=UGA, UT, LSU, Texas and USC , from highest to lowest top 5.

I hate playing FCS teams, just don't see any value in it. Certainly doesn't prepare you for SEC play.

Before someone says it, no, I don't care if help pay for their program.

A big majority of ETSU people are also UT people. Let’s get both teams out of Neyland as healthy as possible.
I have degrees from both.. Its a who should win for me. If ETSU was in FBS and UT was FCS I would want ETSU to win. A loss to a FBS school doesnt hurt ETSU at all. It would the other way around

I agree with you BUT you almost need some throw away games to get people healthy and to get some young players experience as well.

Exactly and I’m happy to keep that money instate going to their program.
Yes, keep the money in-state. Our youngest daughter lives in Jonesborough, which is about a 10 minute drive to Johnson City. Johnson City is a really nice, beautiful little city, which you could say about almost all of East Tennessee cities/towns.

After watching part of the Carolina game last night, I say we can accomplish what you're saying without playing FCS teams. There are 136 FBS teams, schedule no team ranked below 70.

I’m not a huge fan either. But if you take care of business, it’s an opportunity to get guys rest and back healthy. It’s serving us well the week before Georgia. Again, that’s as long as we take care of business

I mean you can definitely try and mostly succeed but a lot these schedules are made several years in advance. You’re gonna have a clunker game every once in a while

ETSU fans know the same thing we know about this game. It'll be cheap, it'll be over fast, and we won't know if we've got anything until we see the doctor - the doctor in this case being UGA on the following weekend.
