I’m glad they dropped Bama way down, Clemson, and Texas still in the top 10 is laughable both with one loss. I thought we might crack the top 15 but I’ll take where we’re at !

3 one loss teams in the top 10 - yikes.

When will preseason polls be eliminated.
The preseason polls wouldn't be so bad if the voters would start from a clean slate each week and vote based off what they see rather than thinking teams have to rise or fall within a certain range based off their previous week's ranking. Bama shouldn't even be ranked after the way they looked Saturday. Teams like Texas, Notre Dame and especially Clemson appear to have been way over valued in the preseason and effectively get a mulligan loss because they played another team that voters thought highly of coming into the season. Did Texas look like anything resembling a top 10 team Saturday? Clemson looks pretty much the same as they did last year, when they finished the season outside the top 10 but they stay in the top 10 after going 0-1 with a home loss because voters thought they were the fourth best team in the country coming in. Ohio State didn't exactly look like a juggernaut, either, but they will likely jump to #1 because they beat a Texas team at home that also looks overrated.

I find it kind of funny that voters ranked Alabama in Week 1 like they were still coached by Nick Saban, and then in Week 2 ranked Florida State as if they just beat a Nick Saban coached team.

Also moving up 28 spots has to be the record this year for AP movement, but Tennessee will get its shot at the second best poll pop in two weeks ...

Yeah but the team who beat them pretty handily is ranked one spot ahead of them. If it was a last second win for FSU, I could see that but that game showed FSU was significantly better than Bama
Ah but as an FSU fan, Alabama has to see your name right above them for at least a week. I would take that all day.

The coaches poll is more realistic based on performances so far. Of course coaches are better judges of teams than journalist who don’t even watch all the games and most don’t understand the game. They obviously AP poll is pathetic, not just this week but consistently.

I came to post the exact same thing. This poll may have a spot or two you disagree with, but it seems a lot more based in reality.
