Anyone else feel this way about Nico?

I’m not even mad anymore, I feel sorry for him. Serious question: how much of his money do you think he even sees? How many people are mooching off him? He reminds me of a child actor surrounded by vultures- people who are supposed to love him- giving him the worst advice.

And for those who say, “He’s in his 20s; he’s a grown man!” true, but in some cultures, obeying your parents is paramount and rarely questioned. I feel like we’re watching a train wreck, and it’ll only get worse week by week.

Am I too soft?

I wonder if his folks know they screwed him or if they are defiantly holding onto the beleif that they are right. I also wonder if they deeply apologized would CJH take him back next year if he were to reach out.

Sad to say, but at this moment, he and Arch are racing one another toward the bottom of the mountain they both started out standing atop.

Either could recover, of course. I'd bet a lot more on Arch doing so than Nico.

It’s almost like every fan base fanboys over good players and then loses it when players do something they don’t like.

While I think it’s a bit over the top, this fan base is no worse than any other when it comes to dogging players and coaches.

Nah, he made his decision with or without help. Decisions are funny like that, they have consequences. Sometimes good, sometimes bad. I’ve made my fair share of both and dealt with them.

Now he gets to do the same. Part of making those millions is getting to deal with the consequences on a national level. I bet he’s learned some lessons through this whole process. I hope by then end of the season he’s buried so far on a depth chart somewhere that I forget who he is and never see another thread about him.

Yep---he has to take some responsibility for his actions. After all, he wanted $4Million from us this year.

Don't forget, Tennessee gave him an offer of $8Million if he stayed for 4 years. $2Million a year was unheard of at the time. Once other QB's started getting $4Million a year, they got greedy and the rest is history.

He's not here because he didn't want to be here

Nico who?

Culture? Any 20 year old that lets his dad or mom destroy his future well they deserve what comes to him. At some point he has to be his own man. At 20 if he chooses not to be then so be it. We aren’t talking about a 17 year old here, he is an adult who can go to war and pay taxes.

I watch Tennessee App State and NDSU, so when we got Aguilar I felt like it was an upgrade and was pretty much over it right then. Foster deserves a slow and painful downfall though for trying to trash on Aguilars "film study habits" THATS MY QUARTERBACK

let me tell you about these young guys and their NIL incomes. The majority of them have "agents" taking as much as 20% of their NIL deals and I wouldn't be surprised at it being higher in some cases. There are no laws or regulations to control what the "agents" could get. Many are family members of the players but many are friends of family... Its bizarre what is going on. A lot of players are just getting ripped off...

You can't be serious. Not only is he not a good QB, but he left Tennessee in the worst way possible and brought unnecessary drama here. I think we're a better team now without him. Even if he was a good QB, no way you let that clown and his family anywhere near Knoxville again.

I’m not sure if his parents actually have jobs or if “pimping their kids” is their jobs. I have heard conflicting reports. If not and any and all money he and his brother get through NIL is the family sole source of income, it will not last long (especially in California).

As for how I “feel” about him? I support everybody who wears the Power T. I have an affinity for “true” VFLs and consider those who leave early NAV (Not A Vol). circumstances of departure matter. Dalton Bargo from the baseball team was a victim of not getting drafted and not having a seat here when the music stopped. I wish him much success unless NC St is playing the Vols.

As for Nico, it may sound petty but I hope this ends up being the worst decision he ever makes in his life. Not because I wish him ill personally, but due to the visibility I would hope future players would pause and think before “pulling a Nico”….

Joey is the MAN this year!

Completely agree.

At 20 most of us, regardless of the bluster, would follow our father's instructions/lead.

From everything i have seen out of Nico, he is a talented and pretty good young man. Probably not the leader he needs to be but that can be developed and grown into.

Personally, i wish him the best.

some transfers are encouraged by the staff to do so. Its hard to know the circumstances around every transfer and why they happen.

He’s just not good. Maybe on paper he sounds great but the actual performance was mediocre at best for what he was paid. I’ll take someone with slightly above average talent that wants to be here over a superstar that’s here for the wrong reasons.

I understand the appeal of making money especially if you’re young and have none, but I’d suit up and play for Tennessee for free right now. I’d actually pay a membership fee. We need guys like Aguilar that want to be here and win.

I agree with you. College sports it's a business now. They are grown adults and they make their own financial decisions. It could be money, it could be family. It could be numerous reasons. Heck, they might all like the food where they live. But I hated a college player because they leave your team. It's ridiculous and embarrassing. It makes players that might come here and not get to play right off the bat. Have an easier time to leave the program. It's like a job if someone wants to quit that job and go somewhere else and work, they should be allowed to do that without being persecuted.
