I'm ecstatic football has started back, but as someone watching for several decades, I can't ever remember Week 2 not being a let down. In Week 1 you get big exciting marquee games. In Week 3, you start getting great conference games. Week 2 is always filled with bad games.

That said, here are some of the more notable games today:

Texas vs San Jose State - this is seriously on ABC as their marquee Noon game! you know it's a bad slate when this is a marquee Noon game.

Oklahoma State vs Oregon - this one looked good on paper when it was scheduled, but OK State is pretty bad this year.

Ole Miss vs Kentucky - another one that probably would've been interesting a few years ago, but I suspect Kentucky is pretty bad this year

UT vs ETSU - our cupcake game, but also the worst cupcake game for those of us who went to ETSU since we have to root against our alma mater - people at ETSU root for UT football. That said, ETSU is ranked in FCS this year; they won't give UT a challenge, but maybe they can make some noise in FCS.

USF vs Florida - honestly, the most interesting looking game of the day IMO - if Florida loses this one, it's a bumpy ride; they have one of the toughest 4 game stretches in CFB history after this

Michigan vs Oklahoma - at least we get one marquee ranked matchup today - guess I'm rooting for the Sooners as I find it difficult to root for Michigan

Vanderbilt vs Va Tech - actually one of the more interesting games of the day, but on the ACC Network and who TF subscribes to the ACC Network?! will be hilarious if Vandy loses since their jackass QB guaranteed victory

Alabama vs UL-Monroe - only funny because this was the notorious game that Saban lost in his 1st year - Bama will blow them out this time - if they don't, DeBoer's hotseat is going to get very hot

UCLA vs UNLV - one of about 4 games UCLA might win this year, but would be hilarious if UNLV won - oh and for some reason, it's at UNLV and UNLV is only a 1.5 point underdog LOL

Arizona State vs Miss State - this one also might be interesting; AZ State is one of the teams some people thought would be real good again and some thought would fall off, so this is a test game for them

The most embarrassing scheduled games of today:

Miami vs Bethune-Cookman
South Carolina vs SC State
Utha vs Cal Poly

So what are you all watching?

There are a few decent games worth watching today. There’s always an upset in the first few weeks of the season. So I will be watching for that.

But most importantly, I am really looking forward to seeing Joey Aguilar run out onto the field at Neyland Stadium for the first time. And I am looking forward to him having a big day in his first game at home as a Vol.

No Kansas-Missouri on this list? One of those “120+ played game rivalries with state hatred ties going back to the Civil War” finally getting played again after realignment killed it.

Currently watching SEC Nation and it's one of the worst I've seen in a long time.

Not sure why they are at Missouri Kansas.

I feel like most fans of SEC teams do not feel like Missouri is even part of the SEC.

Should be at Ole Miss Kentucky

South Carolina vs SC State

Full Disclosure - I am a Gamecocks fan.

If I have to sell this game to you, i will pitch this angle:

LaNorris Sellers is a candidate for this year’s Heisman trophy and a top five pick in the NFL draft. Whether he deserves that interest or not, the gamecocks should use this game to put his passing ability on tape. The Gamecocks schedule will not be easier than it is today.

Sellers should put up 300+ yards today to strengthen his cases. If he doesn’t do that…
