SEC looks weak in 2025

Not sure it is weak, it is balanced.

Miss State and Vandy just picked up big wins (especially for them). Oklahoma looks good, etc.

The top dogs don't feel like they are miles ahead of the other SEC teams anymore or that they can show up and win. SEC looks more like it did from 2001-2012 with parity.

B1G has gotten better though and is now the more top heavy league between the two. B1G also feels like it has more National Title Contenders right now.

B1G teams seem to benefit from scheduling. I don't think there is the same level of parity, top to bottom, in the B1G - so it is still like there are a few teams that are at the top - and the mid-tier teams that only play 1 of them benefit and look better than they really are.

That's a huge exaggeration, but still a good win. Not sure MSU is SEC's worst. There aren't any bad teams in the SEC
I meant from 2024. I don’t think it will be the case for MSU this season, but it sounds good as a rebuttal to this thread title.

Auburn beat Baylor, who beat the ACC regular season best record from 2024 also. This is quintessential SEC, really. May not have the best team in the country, but it’s still the most competitive league. This has been the case for the SEC for as long as I can remember, except for the Saban years where the SEC dominated on every way.

B1G is like the SEC from 2012/2013 - 2021. It is really just 2 teams with a 3rd popping up every now and then. You mostly had Michigan (Georgia) and Ohio State (Alabama) with Penn State (Auburn) and now Oregon (LSU) in the mix. The rest are not that strong. However, I am not sure anyone in the SEC could beat Ohio State and Oregon right now.

I believe that about Ohio State. I need to see more from Oregon though. They have a history of coming up short for some reason I don’t understand.

Yeah. SMU was the highest ranked ACC team last season, before losing to Clemson in the conference championship. No idea how SMU ended up playing in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

I need to quit typing. I’m barely awake this late.
The ACC invited them. They are a prominent University with good athletic programs and have a huge endowment, plus give them a segment of the DFW TV market

Eh too early. LSU looks legit. I think Mizzou is underrated. Oklahoma has had the defense but a trash offense and they look much improved. Auburn looks pretty good. The rest, your seeing youth. Ole Miss, Alabama, and Georgia are all breaking in new QBs. Bamas defense doesnt scare anyone but Ole Miss is decent and Georgias is elite. USCjr was obviously overrated
