Refree microphone

Does anyone know why we cannot hear the ref's at the stadium these days. It also sèms to be an issue with other things from the field. I can hardly hear Sterl with is pregame hype.

Worse than that, is the PA announcer bellowing "it's third down" a the top of his lungs just to hear his own voice. Horrible.

Per an old classmate that works with the “fan experience“ department, as they call it now, there was some kind of interference that did not allow the sound mixer in the main control booth to receive the signal from anything on the field. The band microphones didn’t work, the Referee microphone, and the handheld that Sterl the pearl uses were all almost completely useless. I’m not sure if they punted on the national anthem singer because of it, or if that was a separate issue, because they didn’t discover the problem until about 20 minutes before kickoff.

the PA sound in the stadium is bad. They only use the speakers at field level. Not sure why they don't also use the ones on the scoreboards or at least put some speakers around the stadium led board facing the upper decks too
The ones on the scoreboard are the primary ones for the stadium. The field level speakers only amplify the band during allowed times.

FWIW, on the radio broadcast, it was frequently impossible to understand what Mike and Ramon were saying over the crowd noise. Wonder if their sound mixer was having troubles?

Couldn't be problems related to the new stadium-wide wifi, could it? Nah. Technology always works, and makes everything better (when it works).

Mercedes Benz had some pretty stellar acoustics for a venue that size. But one thing I noticed was the PoSB and smaller SU bands sound was swallowed up. At least on the level 2 ring. Only a couple of frequencies seemed to not disappear. It was a strange experience. Overall I missed the Neyland experience by a lot.
