CJH did show Nico to the door when the opportunity arose. Probably the best decision he has made this season. CJH did bring in Joey. Who on this board would have went after JA in April and believed he could deliver against SEC opponents? CJH gives us a better chance to win than most others. I’m sure Kirby and staff made some bad decisions, but the W erases those decisions for fans. We vividly remember every play that was unproductive for the Vols. I hate losing. I think we should win every game in every sport, but I’m also realistic. I’m sure that most of our father-in-laws would not have chosen us as the first choice for their daughter! We have sucked for a lot of this century. I can now approach Saturdays with hope we have a chance. I would rather lose to Georgia now than in December or January. We have class and our program is respected. CJH is not perfect and neither am I. Be thankful we have him as our coach. I’ll take 10 win regular seasons for now. It’s a heck of a lot better than where we were. The recruiting classes we are signing and portal players we bring are great choices. I remember a lot of QB names thrown around here back in April. How are they doing so far? GO BIG ORANGE!!!!!

If there's people hating on CJH for one game they are either around 4.5 years old or less, or they need to put the Jack down and head to bed. Ive been a Tennessee fan since I was a kid in the 80s.......we are playing fun and exciting football again and we'd be dumb to run CJH off. He's got us rolling and as much as I hate losing, this EARLY loss sometimes lights fire under teams (see last year's OSU) and our D gets back to full strength + all this game experience with our youngins............im actually thinking playoffs this year. We'll see how we focus next weekend. But if we go back-to-back playoffs and you're not impressed? Find a different hobby.

Sucks losing, especially the way that we did, but its a heck of a lot better than getting steamrolled like we did under the previous coaches. Also nice to know that with JH at the helm we won't be losing to mid major schools anymore.

Yeah. Let’s be honest, almost everyone had us losing to GA before the season, and they lost…so now that’s an issue? Regroup and move forward.
Let’s be honest, what everyone had us doing before the season shouldn’t factor in to how we feel now.
What matters was today.
Were we good enough to win? Yes
Did they beat us or did we crap the bed and lose win we should have won ? I think you know the answer. And that’s the issue

It was a tough loss. Move on.

Did CJH call a perfect game? Hell no, but Max just had to make that FG. It was 43-yard try. He had to do it. He didn't, and we didn't win. It is as simple as that.
There's no moral victory. This was the closest time we've ever gotten to in the last 9 years. Remember, when we beat them in 2016, that team was loaded with NFL players, and luck was on our side. Today, it wasn't. Had Bama kicker nailed that FG in Neyland in 2022, we would have lost that game. This is football.

Ok then. "Talk" about them. That accomplishes what exactly? Not a thing. Go seek your validation on tiktok
I’m not on tick tok.
“Talking “about “them, “or anything else related to Vol Football is the reason I’m a member of Volnation and when I signed up I don’t recall one of the rules being getting your approval of what I or anyone else talks about, football related!
Go on tik tok if you feel the need to control what others talk about, you’ll have a better chance there than you’ll have with controlling me!

By Move on you mean don’t talk truths because they may not be what you want to hear.
Ok
No. I mean the team lost to a better opponent who was favored to win the game by 3 and also has more talent. Also no one thought we would be in the game. Lots of football left to play unless you’d like to just pack it in for the season.

Best post of the night IMO! 100% agree. This team is good and growing up fast. We got a blue collar QB that had a great game against a great defense. He had 121.32 QB rating today against the UGA… and should have been better - one of those INTs could be attributed more to the WR slipping. Was really proud of our defense too. These guys are doing it without two of our best DTs and our two starting CBs out. This is a special team. And I agree. I think we slip into the playoffs and make some noice

Have only seen one Heupel hater. Questioning his decisions does not make one a hater. Anyone who loves Tennessee or even just smart football should question some of his decisions today.
You could say same thing about Georgia and their play calling in red zone. Georgia kept us alive with a lot of their awful play calling. Their fans are furious at Bobo. Heupel made way less mistakes with calls than Mike Bobo.

2 things: Heupel is a head coach, not just an OC. He’s going against Kirby moreso than Bobo.

Secondly, hard for me to say that Heupel made “way less mistakes” than Mike Bobo when Georgia had 502 yards and Bobo is only in charge of the offense. Hard to complain about the single game performance an OC who calls the plays to get 500 yards and 44 points on the road against a top 15 team.
