Gonna be brief this morning with this thread. We all saw it, we all felt it, and we all continue to feel it. We gave away a game that we should have won against a powerhouse yesterday to end the streak. It hurts everyone associated with the program, especially the players and coaches. We need to flush it and move on, and not let the result from yesterday dictate our season, but let it propel us to be better.

Keys to the game this week:

1. DEFENSE NEEDS TO GET RIGHT AND GET HEALTHY. Not sure what else to say. We are terrible defensively right now. Not sure if it is due to the health of some major players, the coach that’s coordinating the defense, youth, or a combination of all. My guess is that it is a combination of all three. It’s frustrating, but I just don’t think we are built upfront to hold the line of scrimmage against an offensive line like Georgia. That showed yesterday. Yes, there were tons of holding calls that were not called, but we fail to get penetration and disrupt the line of scrimmage against them enough to shut their run game down. We desperately need to get healthy, get Moi, Hobbs, and hopefully McCoy back. Let’s just hope McCoy is coming back to help his team and not being selfish to prepare for the draft.

2. Offense just needs to keep doing what they are doing. I never dreamed we would have scored 38 points in regulation against Georgia and lose the game. If you would’ve told me before the game that we would score that much, I would’ve told you we won by at least 10 points. There’s some corrections we can make to make this offense even better. I think we will see that as this season progresses, this offense has the ability to probably go down as the best offense Heupel has had. We are just more complete and the offensive line played a fantastic game yesterday. Flush yesterday and let’s keep this juggernaut rolling, as I think we may have to outscore a few more teams on the schedule to win.

Prediction:
I honestly haven’t looked to see exactly what UAB has. The only thing I know that they have is Trent Dilfer as their head coach. Let’s be honest, this game should not be even close and should be over at the end of the first half at least, if not the first quarter. It’s all gonna depend on how much of a hangover we have From yesterday. I think we have a leader in our quarterback that’s not gonna let yesterday hangover to next week. With that said, I think we start off a little more sluggish than we would hope, but eventually get things going. Hoping to see some of these injured players get back and get the rust off with 15 to 20 snaps this game and get ready to play on the road against Mississippi State. We are going to need them there.

I don't think our defense is terrible, just inconsistent for all the reasons already mentioned. But yes, it needs to get better and I think they will get better.
Our Offense is very good and will remain so as long as our Oline and QB remain healthy.
Next game against UAB is a chance to get healthy and I think we will score as many points as we decide, it will be a relaxing game to recover from the hard battle our team had against Georgia.

IIRC Dilfer is a friend of the program. In that when he was a coach at a HS here he sent a number of kids to us, came to our campus a few times and spoke very highly of tennesee.

So if I’m remembering that correctly, I hope we win bigly, but with respect

Get a big lead, empty the bench.
