over the Vols. After yesterday’s game what say you that saw the game yesterday? Did you see a large or very large talent gap that UGA has over us?

Me personally? I did not see a talent gap at all. Lots of really good players and playmakers all over the field by both teams on both sides of the ball.

Saw a talent gap in coaching. I love Heupel, but I think yesterday was his worst coaching performance job in his time here in big games.

The “talent gap” showed up in the trenches of the D-line … but that might have been because of the injuries we’ve had. Our freshman corner got picked in, too.

But overall, our guys came ready to play. There was just a tiny bit of that loser mentality present at the end of the game- and it was enough to get us a loss. The loser mentality that was once rampant here under Pruitt and his predecessors is now almost eradicated. Almost. Still some of the wide-eyed looks that say, “When are things going to go wrong?” instead of “Here’s where we win this one!”

But, heck, that was a true battle out there last night. Our guys fought hard. They were ready to ply and compete - and I think they were prepared to win. Just a few lapses here and there, especially at the end. Gotta get those fixed.

But the Vols proved they can play with anyone on any night. Must learn how to finish better.

Agreed. All anyone needs to see that as an issue is with 6:40 left in regulation we were up by 8 points and lost the game.

Yep coaching… went 0-2 on the two most important plays of the game… 4th and 6 and the two point conversion when we could of taken a timeout to rest our defense and set things up to ensure we didn’t leave our true freshman on an island

Actually how many 4th downs did Georgia convert?and let’s not forget the 4th and 2 hype didn’t go for when he had a chance to break the will of Georgia …. Or what was the 3rd down conversion rates for both teams?

I wouldn't trade Heupel for any coach. We're coming, and it ain't gonna be long until Tennessee sits on top of the conference. So much better than the decade before this one.

Agreed while I have criticized him he is still my coach. If it wasn’t for a couple of crucial injuries we win this game by several TD’s so IMO we are here now IF we can get healthy.

We were right there all game, had it in hand several times, but Georgia has more talent and more room for error. That is one big thing all that blue chip talent gives you; a chance to still win when a few breaks don't go your way. We are so very close to being a national title contender year in and year out, we just need a couple classes solidly in the top 10. A couple of uber talented guys can make all the difference in the world in a close game. It's the difference in a sack killing drive and a game winning TD. The portal is slowly killing off the dynasty teams too. That's something to consider as well.

UGA was 2-2 on 4th and 8-17 on 3rd.

We were 5-12 on 3rd.

Agree. And when you consider that we were down four defensive starters and our stud RT, your point is even more valid.

I've said all week that there are no moral victories, that winning these kinds of games should be expected right now, and I stand by that. We went toe to toe with a top 5 team and for all intents and purposes won the game if we could have executed a FG sequence.

Lack of talent had zero to do with that loss.

NIL has leveled the playing field at the top. With the class we are bringing in next year, and the young talent on the roster, VOLS shouldn't be out-talented moving forward

Yes they do. There's no doubting it at all. Heupel just coached his ass off to make up for it. Georgia has TEN 5-star players on their defense alone. Think about that. We have 2 and they're a freshman and sophomore.

If we had TEN 5-star players on our defense like Georgia has , we don't give up 41 to that offense. Heupel was scheming guys open all game. Y'all need to give credit to our coaches more.

Does it really matter? They beat us again and that's ALL that matters. I don't care about close game participation trophies. We're 2-14 our last 16 against them and 1 of those took a miraculous Hail Mary. Yes, I'm glad we've closed the gap. But, a loss is a loss no matter how we spin it.

I'm one of those people. And I was wrong. That game told me everything I needed to know. We have the talent. This team is better than last season. A lot better. Joey is a puzzle piece we have needed for the last 2 years. More importantly, we have depth. Everywhere. Not only that, but we are doing it with the youth. We have young players that are playing like upper classmen. We have to get a QB ready to rock for next season. If we do, 2026 is going to be special.........

Yeah uga has a 20 plus percent blue chip ratio advantage, you dont see the difference because heupal is a good coach with a good coaching staff, the entire group has vastly overachieved, that for whatever reason hurts alot of feelings, because its hard to argue against actual facts

After sleeping on it I'm willing to say that we have arrived. We should have won yesterday. We didn't get lucky. We had them on the ropes and it took a miracle missed kick for them to win.

We have arrived and everything we want and desire is in front of us. I believe this team can best Oklahoma. I think this team can beat Bama. Uga is the talented team we will see in the regular season and can you imagine how good we can be healthy?

To win the SEC you have to have a QB and we got ours. We can win the SEC this season.

I don't disagree at all regarding the coaches, and there's no doubt that Georgia (and Alabama, and Ohio State) still have a talent edge, especially with regard to depth. What I'm saying is we are past the point of using that as the excuse any time we lose to one of them. This game was won except for a botched end of game situation, which had nothing to do with talent.

They have superior depth still. The gap has narrowed though.

Totally agree with the "no more moral victories" stance, we're past that point. But I don't give a rat's ass about what our recent record is against these teams, we are now out of the mess that created that record, and all that matters is we lost the game yesterday.

Wallowing in what went down before White and Heupel arrived is nothing but loser talk at this point - no offense intended.
