I’ve watched a lot of Tennessee football over the years. I can’t remember one that hurt this bad especially considering the way things started. So a few things that I can’t get off my mind here.

1. On 4th and 6, if Stockton (who isn’t known for arm talent) doesn’t drop an absolute dime in the end zone, we win this game.
2. If we defended the pick play to branch for the two pt conversion a little better, we win this game.
3. If we don’t jump offsides before the game winning kick, we win this game.
4. If we use a down to get center of the field, we win this game.
5. IF WE ACTUALLY MAKE THE KICK, we win this game.

A lot of people want to point fingers at coaches but the fact of the matter is that we were severely out talented and we were the better football team today. If we swap rosters, Heupel crushes Kirby 10/10. Very proud of our boys and our coaches. The future is bright.

We just played a hell of a game and took the #6 team to OT. Actually had it won just a missed kick away. We are a pretty good team and we move on and play one at a time and it's very possible we win out. GO VOLS

Kinda makes me understand how all those teams we played in the 90’s felt.

I thought about the TN @ KY game in 2007. KY had the game won but we blocked their field goal. TN won the game in a couple - few overtimes. No matter what KY did, they couldn’t beat TN.
It could have been worse. What year was it Bama blocked our FG and recovered it and, kicked their game winning one?

I have 2 observations on this as well. When we got the strip sack in the 4th qtr up by 5 points, we recovered it on the Ga 35 yard line. Instead of going for the td. Hype played for the field goal, ran 3 straight running plays, which put us up by 8. When you are playing a quality team such as Ga, you at least try to go for the td. Meaning run the same offense you have run all this game, a mixture of run and pass with success. The second in question was our last series of the game in regulation. We marched right down the field with a mixture of run and pass, but when we got in fg range it was all run. Why not go for the kill in these two cases. Don't play not to lose, but play to wn. With all this said I consider Hype a great coach who I had rather have than any other available coach.

Agreed but wasnt upset. I mean it sucks to lose but we havent really been competitive with uga under the heupal era until now. We keep inching closer and closer. The last couple of games we jumped in front then caved, this time we adjusted and kept fighting. I think about everything while appreciating our infrastructure for this new age of college football that countiunes to set us up for great sustained success, all the cylinders are firing in the right direction
