Not that crazy of a thought. His odds moved up substantially over the weekend.

"Aguilar entered the season with +8000 odds to win the trophy. Going into the Georgia game, it was already cut down to +5000. That was tied for the 22nd-best odds to win the award in the country. Now, according to FanDuel on the morning of Sept. 14, 2025, Aguilar has +1600 odds to win the Heisman Trophy. This is tied for the fifth-best mark in the country."

I posted this in another thread:

Joey Aguilar in 3 games

9.5 Yards per attempt, 302 yards per game, 66.3 completion %, 9.5 TD%, 173.5 QB Rating

Rankings nationally: 10th in passing yards, 11th in yards per game, Tied for 5th in passing TDs, 15th in TD%, 16th in Yards per attempt

Hendon Hooker senior season

9.5 Yards per attempt, 285 yards per game, 69.6 completion %, 8.2 TD%, 175.5 QB rating

Rankings nationally: 30th in passing yards (*missed last 2 games), 15th in passing yards per game, 21st in passing TDs*, 1st in yards per attempt, Tied for 18th is Passing TDs, 8th in TD%

Obviously Hooker was more of a dynamic runner, and Hooker did that while playing a full SEC schedule. But Aguilar might be putting himself into Heisman consideration.

If we can make the playoffs, which would mean, what maybe 11-1 or 10-2 and who knows how the season plays out we may see a 9-3 loss team in doubtful but possible.
I think that would boost his odds thru the roof.
WHAT A STORY if he could pull that off. CJH should be able to recruit any recruit in the country with notch in his belt.

He certainly has the feel good story going for him. 2 of ESPN favorites Norris and Lagway are fading. Norris is out with a concussion if he misses saturday he will be out of running. It will be tough for Lagway to recover from 5 int game against LSU. Whoever wins between Mateer and JA could have a big bearing on the outcome. If UT wins out and JA keeps playing well he will get a lot of talk. He has a lot of tough games on the schedule.

We keep playing well and he should be in the running. Like posted earlier, it's a feel good story and it'll make headlines. TN Vols trade $8 mil man to UCLA for their fireman.😎

If he plays well and we win against OU, and then especially on the road against Bama and FL then yes. Sure hope that happens. Those games against MSST and ARK are no gimmies either.

I don't think wins and losses matter AS MUCH as going out there and throwing for 300 yards a game and a bunch of TDs.

the wins will help get us to the playoff and help his odds but Travis Hunter didn't need to play on a winning team to win the Heisman.

he just needs to ball out.

Agreed. Jayden Daniels won it for a LSU team that lost 3 regular season games.

The big thing is looking good every game. UGA was likely the toughest defense we're going to see, so that gives me a lot of hope for the rest of the season. That and the WRs just being studs this year. Probably our best overall receiving core in terms of raw talent, that we've had under Heup.

I agree. if we can put 40 points on Georgia then we can beat anybody on the rest of our schedule. I know people are freaking out about the defence but I think we have a freak for a QB.

UGA has scored 30+ on our defense annually since Kirby took over, aside from 2022 when they scored 27. Anybody that thought we were gonna shut them down just wasn't being honest with themself. Stockton may not be as good as previous QBs they have had (jury is still out though), but they still have a bunch of playmakers on offense and an OL full of 5 stars. Then consider we were down 4 starters, and the results should have been expected.

Had we won on Saturday, his name would have definitely been out there. Even though he had stats that should have him in the conversation, the loss seems to count more than effort on the field.

Totally agree - just hope we can stay healthy, and he keeps this up. We also have some impressive receivers who make every effort to catch what comes their way!

And the receivers were very good at getting separation - was so glad to see that against a good defense.

Had we won the game he'd be at the top of the list right now.

He could still get there but in my mind wed have to be an Atlanta and maybe even win for him to have a good shot at it which is pretty much gonna be us winning out the regular season.
