We sure seem to have been lucky at the QB position since CJH arrived. With Nico falling flat on another teams roster and, two other QB’s that couldn’t make it where they were but were sent to the league from here, is it the QB talent or the system?

Several media pundits state it’s the system. Regardless, I’m glad we’re winning and competing at a high level!

Yep combination of both. CJH can scheme guys wide open all game long. He's done that every game since he's been here. Just need a QB who doesn't panic/choke and knows how to put some touch on it. Milton and Nico have no touch.

His system finds the mismatches for the qb to be successful. IMO, his system require a qb who can process coverages quicker, including picking up the blitz. You don’t need a qb w/ an elite arm.

I was surprised how Joey “saw the field” and played within the pocket instead of taking a sack or forcing the issue.

It's a combination of both. Whatever the intangible is that Joey A has, CJH needs to hone in on that with future recruits. In my amateur opinion, I think that it's the ability to read defenses and make quick definitive decisions.

This is a new system, we ran more condensed and traditional formations than wide ones on Saturday. This is more or less a modern pro style offense with some veer and shoot concepts mixed into the up tempo game. My opinion is it’s Heupel’s ability to maximize a QBs strengths and play around their weaknesses. He has to have a QB that understands the game and knows how to play the position and isn’t just a freak athlete though

Absolutely. Decision making to decipher defenses. People used to call that being a “game manager” when that’s literally a QB’s number one job, manage the game so you give your team the best chance to win.

Joey is a really good processor and the 🏈 goes where it’s supposed to. I really like our offense. Sure we had a lull in that 2nd/3rd quarter but the operation has been really good and we’ve gotten the tempo going.

Joey has yet to over throw a deep ball and it had only led to 1 int… I will live with that all day with the amount of tds we have created off the deep ball this year… the system is amazing but it’s funny because it is best for Qbs who are more similar to the way heup played… not the most physically gifted but very smart accurate guys who process quickly… even the backstory of transferring and dealing with adversity he seems to connect on a deeper level with those guys… of the 4 starting Qbs he’s had 2 generationally gifted Qbs who have not played near the level of the other 2 who are talented but do not have the crazy arms of Nico or Joe… I’m curious too see if one of Faizon or George can be the perfect combo of physical amazing arms and equal the smarts… the problem is generationally talented arms often get away with things in there careers that most can’t but lack the consistency to actually beat a defense with their minds… I wouldn’t be opposed to heup finding an older junior or senior Qb with experience and not the most physically gifted every year..
